Much better than the granular PBW
I have been making wine and beer for three years now and I had always used the dry powdered PBW that you mix with water. No matter what water temp I used, the powder never seemed to mix completely.I switched to One Step PBW but I had a similar problem in that the powder just didn't dissolve completely. When it was time to order more, I saw the liquid PBW offered here on Amazon and ordered some. I just finished racking a batch of wine and used the new liquid PBW, it mixed up clean and all my equipment came out squeaky clean. I'll never go back to the dry mix as long as the liquid PBW is available.

I love this stuff!
Think of this as sort of a liquid Oxi on steroids. It's an alkaline cleaner in the same family as lye, oven cleaner, borax, ammonia, TSP, baking soda, and many others, though it safer to use than most of them. Invented at (or for) Coors to clean brewery equipment, it's also very widely used in home brewing. I like it for extra-tough kitchen cleaning, especially tough protein and fat based deposits. A good example is the residue left on a saucepan after boiling turkey giblets for several hours. I've always used Barkeeper's Friend (which is a terrific acid-based cleaner), but for this, PBW works better. Moreover, it does it with a simple (if long) soak, instead of brutal scrubbing. It also cleans glassware beautifully. If you have a difficult to clean vase with a narrow neck, for instance, PBW will probably clean it better than any other way you may have tried..This is a concentrate. 1oz to a gallon of water is the standard - and effective - dilution, so a little goes a long way. Many people use it at far lower solution concentrations for soak cleaning, as little as a tablespoon or so for several gallons of water. It can be used at virtually any dilution level. It does work best in warm to very warm water. It's possible to use it undiluted, too, but take care to heed safety considerations if you do. PBW is safer than many cleaners and it is NOT caustic, unlike lye and most oven cleaners, for example. PBW is non-toxic and safe for bare hands, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily easy on your skin. Oils in your skin are no different than the organic oils, greases and other compounds that PBW is good at dissolving! Some people do use bare hands, some find it better to wear gloves.A great example of a true industrial cleaner adaptable to a number of home uses. The real deal.

Good cleaning, but takes a lot of product to create solution
The dosage of this requires 1-2 oz per gallon, which is actually a lot. I wanted to clean a lot of second hand beer bottles for reuse in brewing, and for one sinkful of water I needed to use a lot of this product (like 4 oz or a 1/4 cup worth) and it made a noticeable dent in the amount. At that rate, I'll be able to use this product to clean equipment about 8 times before I run out. Doing the math, that costs me almost $4 every time I use this to clean bottles or equipment. Even though I feel that it's a quality product, that's very pricey. Oxyclean Versatile Free also works well for equipment, and I need a lot less to get things clean and it comes out way cheaper (and just as clean).Money aside, this is a good product. It doesn't really create lather or bubbles, but the used labels came off the bottles relatively easily, and both glass and plastic were sparkling clean with no work on my part other than to soak them in the solution and rinse. I'm happy to have this product, but I think for reasons of budget, I would choose a different product next time.

I lovelovrlove this
This has been my go to for my pots and pans. Oh my gosh i loveeee it. NOTHING stays stuck to my pans anymore. Dont even need to overnight soak stuff, just 10 mins with some hot water and everything is coming off like it wasnt cooked on. I have glass pans i soaked and FINALLY the baked on idk grease? Is coming off. Its been YEARS since they looked nice n clean. But finally, theyre looking pretty new. Super happy with it. I dilute it in a spray bottle, probably more than should be in there but i usually do about 3 sprays in a pan with hot water, so its super diluted. Anyway i haven't messed anything up yet. I dont use it on aluminum or wood. okay one time on aluminum but im p sure it says not to cuz theres lye in it, it just erodes the aluminum a bit, but it had burnt on stuff i was sick of scraping. Worked great and it didnt really do any damage.Im definitely going to buy more when i run out. So far id say this will last me at least half a year, maybe a full year

Does a Good Job On My Brewing Equipment
I brew both ale and wine, and I use the carboys, bottles and silicone transfer hoses, over and over again. While merely rinsing them with water mixed with Star San acid keeps them sanitized, they do build up stains and organic deposits over time, and then I use this PBW product to thoroughly clean.I mix this concentrate according to directions – a fluid oz or two per gallon of warm water. I like to fill a carboy with the mix and deposit into it, any tubing that needs a soak. I sometimes let this stand outside in the sun for a day or two. It really does a job of getting rid of stains! I will then transfer the liquid to another carboy and find I can get about 2 uses before I need to replace it.This is a powerful alkaline cleanser that essential burns away organic matter. The bottle comes with a handy built-in measuring cup that makes it easy to dispense.
