Perfect scarf for a present

I hate it when I buy something as a gift which claims to be made of a quality material (eg gold plated, platinum silver, mulberry silk) and then there’s nothing on the product or packaging that verifies it. This lovely blue scarf bu Fleur de Lys has a label to identify the fabric as 100% mulberry silk, and in my book that makes it a good buy, and a good gift.It’s exactly as described, 35 inches square, in a bright deep blue brocade kind of pattern. The pattern is textured, not smooth silk. The blue really does gleam and shimmer with the light. It’s very versatile, it can be worn multiple ways, and - as is the way with fashion at the moment- it can be the finishing touch to a special evening outfit, or a highlight to a casual daytime outfit. Absolutely gorgeous.My only downsides:-One of the silk threads is “pulled” - it’s visible the moment the package was opened.-The packaging is in poor condition - it’s a lovely envelope style package, but mine looks old and like it’s been in someone’s drawer for a while (which clearly it can’t have been.) The front and back have grey markings like rubbed off print, and the seal (which is a lovely fleur de lys) is scuffed with black edges.Those downsides are very disappointing and I would not feel it worth the premium price of £29.99. However, if the scarf and box were both in perfect condition then I’d say it’s a very beautiful and special gift.

My other half loves this scarf, and really likes the colour. She did say that it felt a bit flimsy, and likely to snag easily. So get it, but take care of it!
