The Jujus - 'You Treat Me Bad, 1965 - 1967' (Cicadelic Records)
An over-looked garage band from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Only released a few 45's - no lp until years after when this compilation CD had surfaced. Disc includes what I believe to be all the songs on those 45's + definitely some unreleased material. Tracks that I was most impressed with include the two versions of the title cut "You Treat Me Bad" (alternative and single), the catchy "Hey Little Girl" (both alternative and single edits), the two versions of "The Gentle Rain" and two of the well-received "Fine Day" (single and stereo alternative version). Also couldn't get enough of "It's Gonna Be Alright", the rocking single "I'm Really Sorry", "Do You Understand Me" (another single), "In The Park", "Come On Children" and "Open Your Door". Duration - 54:56. Notably, once the band appeared on a concert bill that included the Kingsmen, Chubby Checker and Al Green. My only regret is I wasn't there. Two band members wound up getting drafted - so who knows what -could have- become of The Jujus had they remained intact for a few more years? Had this title on my want-list for awhile now. Glad that I finally got around to purchasing it. For fans of the Honeycombs, Dave Clark Five, The Outcasts (TX band "I'm In Pittsburgh (And it's Raining"), Gerry And The Pacemakers, Kingsmen [obviously], Mindbenders and The Standells. Highly recommended.

JuJu's Garage Rock - Excellent CD
The JuJus were an awesome amazing well loved Michigan group of the late 60's. They had a lot of talent and when the draft got two of the members it ended the original group. If not for the draft these guys would be very well known names today!
