Q: How does it work? It didn't have directions and i have never made bias tape before. Any help would be appreciated

It works great!! I love my set. It is very easy to use. You will cut your fabric into strips depending on the size of finished bias tape that you need. I am not sure if my set came with directions. I knew how to use it so it did not matter. If you are unsure go to YouTube and search "How to use a bias tape maker". There are several video's showing you how to use it. Hope this helps.

Q: When you sew strips of bias together, will the seams go through the tape maker or do you have to sew them together afterwards?

Sew your strips together with a diagonal seam so the seam does not all go through the bias tape maker tool at the same time. The diagonal seam will cut down on bulk and the fabric will pass thru easier.

Q: In comments some say no box just binder clips & foot. I bought for double the price, but looked like shown in box. What is included?

Mine was not in a box, just sealed on a cardboard backing.

Q: How wide do you have to cut the fabric for each size?

I make several sizes of bias tape...all you do is cut the fabric (on the bias, of course!) twice the width of the size of the finished tape. In other words, if the gadget makes 14mm tape, cut your strip 28mm.
