Love Charlie
I read this one first and will read the other 2. I did like how the characters sounded in their speech and mannerisms that seemed typical for people in 1882 Wyoming. Their lives seemed simpler then even though they did have their share of drama. Charlie Rose akaTristan Axelrose was trying to keep his little blind daughter, Maggie, safe from a man bent on retaliation for the death of his son when Charlie shot him in self-defense. Nell and her brother Seth are trying to keep their ranch a float selling horses to the Army when Charlie shows up at the ranch looking for work. The other characters like Mrs Brenna Lane and her children; I had a hard time seeing her finding Mr Hutton, the hard-nosed school teacher from PA, attractive when he seemed like a total jerk. He was mean when Penny & Jane baked him a cake as a welcome; then he told Brenna that school isn't supposed to be fun when she had to fill in for him when he got the measles. I thought Charlie would be good for Brenna even though I know Nell was the main love interest. Anyhow we never find out what is causing Seth's hacky cough and I wish there could have been a little more romance with Nell and Charlie but Nell had been a cowgirl for so long and Charlie thought he had to court Brenna because his daughter was taken in by her when she showed up on the stage coach alone. Her Aunt Cora was escorting Maggie to Brenna when she died enroute. The story was sweet with some drama from Mrs Fairington, Violet's former employee, lazy gossip and Dwight Hoskins trouble maker not sure where that was going but they made the story interesting. diamondgirl

Book 3 in a great series
Each of the books in this series has been well written and, although using the same people in the town and the surrounding ranches, each is different. First I like the fact that the stories are in the Equality State. Second I like the strong ladies who are the heroines. Yes, they are Romances, but they have substance and a plot. This book had several twists and turns that I didn't expect especially the last one. I liked the characters very much, and enjoyed the references to the people I had met and admired in the previous books. That said, you can read and enjoy this book as a stand alone book without having read the others or without reading the others after ward. I think you will like Nell. I would like to go visit her with a house warming gift. She would make a great neighbor .Enjoy!

Wonderful Read!
I knew when I received the book that I would love the story and become wrapped up in the lives of the newest characters that Mrs. Fyffe had created and I did. Caroline Fyffe is my favorite author so I am always excited to read...or re-read her books. In West Winds of Wyoming, I met Nell Page and Charlie Rose. Honestly, at first I was a little skeptical that I would come to like Nell through the course of the book. She seemed to be a little 'rough', I guess would be the right word. But before I made it into the third chapter, I loved her! She has such a big heart but that heart had seen a lot of tragedy and, like all of us, she wanted to protect herself. No matter how she tried, though, she couldn't help that thoughts of Charlie Rose snuck into her mind at times, more times than she would care to admit, thank you very much!Charlie Rose had lost his wife and hit the road looking for a safe place to lay low and raise his daughter. A place to hide from some sort of trouble in his past. All he wanted when he happened to come across work at Cotton Ranch was to earn a wage that would allow him to get on his feet and provide his blind daughter a place where she could grow up happy and healthy. Nell doesn't know Charlie has a daughter or that he is running from his past. Charlie feels it necessary to keep his distance from his daughter until he is sure that trouble hasn't, and won't follow him to Logan Meadows. Can Charlie trust Nell with his secrets, ask for her help and not let his heart get in the way? Will Nell allow her feelings for Charlie to surface once she finds out that he has lied and withheld a large part of his life from her?

Another one I couldn't put down!!
I just have to say that I love Caroline Fyffe! Every book I have ever read of hers draws me in and this one is no exception. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this!! I was very intrigued from the very beginning. Wondering what secrets "Charlie" is hiding and what trouble is following him.Being widowed at a very young age, Nell is content to work her ranch with her brother. Dressing as a man does and working the ranch have never bothered her before. But when Charlie shows up, feelings resurface that she thought she would never have again. She longs for love and a family, but will her insecurities get the best of her?Charlie shows up at Cotton Ranch for a job and to reclaim his life once again. Trying to outrun trouble, he lands a job on the ranch. But he is keeping secrets. The less anyone knows the better. He is drawn to Nell's understated beauty and her natural intuitiveness with the animals. Does she really know what they are thinking and feeling? When she tells him about the stranger she has seen twice, all he can think is to protect her from his past. Can Nell get past her insecurity and tell Charlie what she feels? Can Charlie finally listen to his heart and not his head and reclaim his life and love? Love, love , love this book and can't wait for more in the series!!

West Winds of Wyoming (A Prairie Hearts Novel)
I really enjoyed this heartwarming story. I wasn't sure how Maddie would be reunited with her father. It was lovely watching how God worked in the lives of these characters. I have to say that Seth stole my heart with his matchmaking ways!!
