Q: How many times can you insert an iv? Is it just a one time use?

The number of times depends on the Gauge size of the needle/s (smaller diameter/higher G-number is better) and when doing phlebotomy it also depends on the hydro-static pressure (how high the container with fake blood is placed above the arm). More than 6 inches is really not necessary. It definitely is not 'one time use' - although I don't know the exact number of inserts due to the above variables. Some phlebotomy schools use these arms over and over during their training sessions. At the end of the day - even the best of arms will start leaking. Trust it helps!

Q: What size and type of needles/IV start kits are compatible

The syringe in box is a Luer slip - but one can really use any type of syringe needle combination. Any size needle will do - but as a lager bore needle will shorten the 'no-leak life' of the arm - we suggest a number 21 or 22 gauge needle. Trust this answers your question!

Q: Does it give you "blood" when you draw??

Yes indeed. It gives you whatever you place in the reservoir container - if one uses fake blood - out comes fake blood when one draws. If one uses colored saline - same thing. Did this answer your question to your satisfaction?
