Great home Vaccum
Had this ball vacuum for almost five years with no issue at all. Great with pet hair, and around the house have endless suction and comes with multiple attachments. It will not tip over due to its low profile compared to its competitors. It’s an ease to drag around multi flooring (wood, carpet, and tiles) vacuum. Highly recommended it. Very durable and dependable design is very great for home use..

Have had Dyson bagless vacuums for decades, still a great machine.
I really like not having to clean out hepa filters anymore & the emptying mechanism is efficient & easy. I really like having a big canister vacuum that's not heavy, that I can carry whilst cleaning the stairs & reach high to clean spiders webs off the light fixtures & dust the blinds. The carpet tool is really efficient & sucks so hard you can feel the carpet resist. The only complaint I would have is that the rotary head that comes with the vacuum isn't great on hard floors (as it tends to kick larger pieces across the room rather than suck them up, & when the knob that stops the rotary action is pulled up it's still really noisy). I had to buy a new hard floor head as the one I had from my previous Dyson canister wouldn't fit, even with an adapter. When you spend $600 on a canister vacuum cleaner you shouldn't have to spend another $50 for another tool. Loads of other tools come with it but not the hard floor tool, which makes little sense other than to nickel & dime customers.

like buying a Ferrari that explodes when you hit the button to lock the doors
I'm a 69 yo male that wants to keep my house immaculate. I have used this Dyson for over a year and hate it more than ever. It replaced a Kenmore that was excellent for 26 years! First the good : extendable wand, suitable suction, doesn't get stuck around corners. That's it. Here's the rest of horrid story: After you spend 4 hours cleaning your house for the arrival of important guests you can easily detach the "bagless container" of filth which will promptly POP OPEN and dump the contents on the white carpets. That's right ...with all their great technology and engineering, the whole mess is contingent on a tiny, flimsy plastic clip. Totally absurd... not a single occurrence but 5 times this year. I guess i finally learned to carry this bomb with two hands outside. And don't think just because there is no filter to clean that when this thing dumps it is completely empty. Even when you go outside for this pageant dirt is flying in your face as you try to get the thing cleaned out. Ultimately buy a small brush to get it clean. The tiny stainless steel pores clog with hair for you to try pick out. The hose is flimsy, the carpet brush is air powered ..so reduced suction means no brushing. I sincerely regret this expensive headache of a purchase.Update : not quite 3 year after purchase and my level of disgust for this thing is over the top. Some might say if it is that bad why do you keep it ... and then you look at the purchase price and the fact that no one would even buy it for pennies on the dollar at a garage sale. I am on a fixed income and divorced my wife after 38 years so that I would be able to spend the end years of my life in a clean house. This piece of equipment is a total failure on so many engineering levels. The point is... to replace parts that are now broken and worn is beyond cost prohibitive. I am determined to keep this junk as a science experiment just to see how long before the motor burns out....god knows it doesn't clean anything properly anymore.

Quieter/Great Suction - Potential Mechanical Issue
Updated May 3, 2017:The potential mechanical issue never materialized, so that's good. The cord rewind is working correctly and hasn't had any issues. There must have been a short break-in period or it was just a temporary fluke. Will update this if I see any change. After owning for a good while with both hardwoods and carpet, I really like this vacuum.I purchased this vacuum recently so I can only give first impressions at this time, but will update later.Updated September 27, 2016:Pros:• Relatively quiet compared to even battery powered stick vacuums, but certainly compared to other powerful uprights and canisters.• New dust bin 2-step emptying mechanism works very well. The internals of the bin automatically push the dirt and dust bunnies out of the canister and into the trash can so you don't have to stick your hands in there (which is nice compared to other models). It also exposes an internal high quality metal mesh that acts as a final boundary for dirt before the air is ejected through the vacuum into your house. This means that you can easily wipe it with a damp cloth if you feel the need to make it look cleaner (I say "look cleaner" because it's not necessary and, of course, won't cause the vacuum to lose suction if you don't clean it).• Suction is top class.• Never-topple design works as advertised.• Working well on both hardwood and carpet.Cons:• Price• I noticed the power cord, which is stored internally and rewinds automatically when you press a lever on the main body of the vacuum, slowly rewinding without pressing the rewind lever. I'm not sure yet if this is because the unit is new, or if the rewind lever mechanism is faulty. It would severely impact user experience if the cord improperly rewinds while you are using the vacuum (because you would have to stop vacuuming and re-pull out the power cord). I will watch this closely and update the review shortly. So far the cost/benefit of this vacuum seems well worth it. I recommend this vacuum and will update this review after a few weeks.
