Thought this was a good deal on small dyed leather pieces. Ended up as another 'too good to be true'.It is NOT 100% leather. I can only assume the "Finished" means rubberized coating or vinyl. This is more like a bonded leather than proper sheet leather.The 'leather' is soft and stretchy; I don't mean like 'this leather jacket has a little give'. I mean like I put a snap in it and it nearly turns 90* instead of popping loose.The material is entirely impossible to wet form. I know, I tried for half an hour. Might be workable with a vacuum form and heat. Not sure how the rubber will act if heated though.The coating also makes the material nearly impossible to sew. It binds up trying to run it through the machine. Will have to hand stitch.Not suitable for crafting projects.

BUYER BEWARE! This product is "VINYL coated under-belly leather!!! The product description is tremendously deceiving! If you are selling vinyl coated leather just say what it is... why deceive and sucker the consumer into purchasing your inferior product!?! Oh, that's right... then no one would purchase your product if they really knew what it was! IMO, this is very shady and bad company practice that will only lead to your company's ultimate failure! I can deal with underbelly leather, I can deal with split leather, I can deal with two pieces of leather glued together... what I cannot deal with is vinyl coated pleather garbage!!! Which is exactly what your so called "Genuine Split Leather" is! So now because your company "WENTO" decided to be deceptive in describing your products true identity... this "WENT-TO" a straight return!!! I can relate with the frustration of the others in the reviews... (which I regret not taking the time to read beforehand)... but, nothing grinds my gears more than wasted money and having to take time out of my schedule to return something... Thanks for the regret and headache...PRO-TIP! DO YOURSELVES AND YOUR FUTURE DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMERS A FAVOR AND REVISE THIS PRODUCTS DESCRIPTION IMMEDIATELY!!! 😡 Scratching my head at the reviewer who called this a very nice piece of leather... seriously? 🤨👎 Only use for this pleather I can scour my mind for is making prototypes of real leather items... and that's pushing it!

I think a lot of the people complaining here do not realize that split leather is not top grain leather. "Top" grain leather does not mean "best", it means the top layer of the hide. This is the lower section of the hide, it's been worked and embossed with a "grain" on top. So yes it is leather, yes it's been embossed with a simulated grain to look like a kind of top grain - but when you buy split leather realize what you're getting.I bought some of this for utility leather work and it holds up quite well. Good for beefing up other leathers, reinforcing things, belts, etc. Easy to work with as well.

Genuine leather with a spray on plastic finish that peels off? Not usable, not impressed. Returned.Expected a piece similar to leather jacket/chap material. Not even close. Will buy a set of chaps to cut up for future small projects/repairs.

Plastic coated that peels or melts if you laser cut it. Misrepresented . If you want a nice supple finished leather, look elsewhere.
