I tried all cotton enclosure first, but struggled to put it on the mattress by myself as the zipper was on one end and the opening very small also although cotton is supposed to be cool for me. I felt it to be quite hot to sleep on and also stiff even after washing. I had none of those issues with this enclosure. It opens up almost to the halfway point so it’s very easy to get onto a mattress by yourself, I also found that the microfiber was cooler than the cotton, which was surprising to me, as well as being completely silent to sleep on. Overall, I am very pleased with this encasement.

I think this is the one. Expensive but definitely helped solve my son’s severe allergy problem. Dust mites can get through regular mattress covers even if it says they can’t. All I know is I bought him a new bed covered it with this and then put a so called waterproof mattress cover on top (hopefully I’m writing the review on the correct mattress cover the true allergy mattress cover was almost $200 for a full sized bed the waterproof cover was like $40. His allergies have improved tremendously over the past year I’ve been using this

I was concerned about some of the reviews, but I did not have much of a problem getting this on our Tempurpedic mattress. The only difficulty was lifting the head to slip the opening over the edges and get one side started underneath--Tempurpedics are quite heavy and I'm 74. Did it by myself without help from my husband who couldn't understand the logic of my instructions--he also has trouble backing the car out of the driveway. I feared I would have difficulty sliding the encasing down to the bottom of the mattress but it slid easily without too much tugging; the material is quite silky. I bought this on the advice of my new immunologist who advised me that I'm very allergic to dust mites and this brand is the best on the market.

I was instructed to seal my mattress by my allergist, and after browsing around, settled on this item. This has a very nice, fabric-like texture to it and feels like really good quality- was quite surprised as I had no idea what to expect - was probably expecting something plastic-like. Very expensive, but definitely worth the money to avoid the "hot" or "plasticy" feeling that I've read other hypoallergenic cases have. Have had no trouble sleeping on top of it - and I am a sensitive finicky delicate sleep-princess that can feel a pea through 20 mattresses! The texture is almost like sateen - and this actually made it pretty easy for me to slip onto my queen-sized mattress all by myself. It's not slippery at all either. I haven't been using it long enough to see if it has an effect on my allergies so I may return later to comment on this. It's nice to know that it should do a good job of sealing in mites and dust. I will note that it had a fair amount of static electricity/cling when I took it out of the dryer (washed it in hot water as soon as it came in) but once I put it on the bed and put a top sheet over it, this wasn't an issue at all. I also purchased the standard size pillow covers by this very same company for the actual pillows that I sleep directly on - and less expensive cases by a different brand for the pillows underneath. Going back, I would have purchased the pricy Mission Allergy pillow cases for every single one of my pillows, because I did notice the other brand, while it also didn't feel plasticky, definitely felt warmer!
