Multiquick 5 Vario Hand Blender (SS Blending Shaft+1.5C Chopper+ Masher + Whisk+ Beaker), MQ5027, Black

I was looking for an immersion blender and researched a few. I am glad I settled on the Braun MQ5027. You can buy ones at half the price, but most come with less attachments, half the motor power, and often a shorter shaft. Also, the bell cap design on the Braun helps minimize splatter. Out of the box, it includes the immersion blender, the primary blending attachment, a mash attachment, a whisk attachment, a blending cup (with built in blades), and a mixing beaker. The attachments are easy to attach and remove. They snap in place and you press two buttons on each side at the same time to release the attachments. There are two power buttons (either one be held to operate which is good for safety). The top button has variable speed, controlled by the dial on the top). The lower button is "turbo mode". I have used all the attachments. This blender is great for when you don't want/need to dirty a whole blender or food processor. I've mashed potatoes and they take half the time of during it with an electric hand mixed. I've minced onions in teh bending cup and it takes seconds and they come out smaller than doing it by hand. I've whipped heavy cream, egg whites, made smoothies, and also minced olives making tapenade. Clean up is simple, just rinse the attachment(s) with some soapy water. It doesn't have a storage bag but won't take up an enormous amount of space in a drawer or on a lazy Susan. The cord is a couple of feet long, which is plenty, and it has a 3 year warranty.

I had a Braun for 15 years until the blending stick wore out and I couldn't find the part. The motor was just fine. I tried a couple of others but ended up sending them back, mostly because of the difficulty of disassembly and ease of use. Primarily the chopping cup. The lids on other models required a twisting action to remove. Then you are busy or your hands are slippery, it's sometimes hard to take apart. Not the Braun. The lid just lifts off. The attachments are easy to line up and it's a two button removal. I couldn't be simpler. My only complaint is the chopper bowl is too small. It should be larger. You can buy one but you shouldn't have to. Good news is my older chopper works with either the new or old handheld motor. That's a win in my book. I can't say enough good things about the Braun unit.

Amen for Braun. Used many of their products over the years, but because of gifting, not their hand blender. At last, I have one, and wow! First is that the shaft to motor connection isn't via a flattened spot on the shaft, it is an fitting. Second, the motor is quiet and powerful! Turbo speed is exactly that. And the speed selection is second to none that I have used. But best of all, I put an attachment on and it feels solid, like it was all one piece! Yup. The best!

After getting my teeth pulled, this made a lot of things easy to drink, cleanup seems pretty easy. Good product.

I've been using this for 2 years already and it hasn't lost the edge at all. Comfortable, the variable speed became a non-negotiable to me and all the attachments still work too!

Oh, I like this. I always pounce on Amazon's "used-like new" deals because they really are like new. I like the Braun because it's made in Romania, a friendly nation. This one was obviously returned without any use at all and I know why. The whisk attachment doesn't fit the motor base. Didn't fit. Does now. It was easy to spot the defect inside its plastic fitting, where an alignment ring in the molded plastic was a bit out of whack, preventing the accessory from moving all the way up to mate fully with the motor unit. Did I mention it's made in Romania? Anyway, a little fast and savage Dremel action took care of it and there are no other issues. No way would I send back a new Braun blender for something like that. This thing is hellish powerful and the range of accessories makes it versatile.

All of the attachments are great and useful. The attachment for mashed potatoes is unlike anything I’ve ever had. It takes seconds and works so well. Great machine.
