Beautifully Written.
An excellent finish to a lovely series. This book is perfect for a quiet afternoon. The characters are warm and loving and you soon feel as if a trip to the island yourself would be a wonderful thing, if only the island was real.

Ok
I liked the original location of the story. Makes me want to read other books by this author.

Somewhat a disappointment!
I have always loved Jenny Colgan books and have read several but can't remember seeing the F word used so often before! It doesn't add to the story at all and I hate to hear/read the word used so casually and so often. Our everyday language has gotten rougher and more hateful but as another reviewer mentioned, reading is often an escape from the reality that is our own lives. We read certain authors to be entertained and transported to another world.

Cozy Christmas Gone Political
I buy myself a Christmas book each year. I have read many Colgan books. I figured this would be the cozy book I love to read beside my fireplace, near our Christmas tree. Then...she got political. She was negative about my President Trump. How dare you. So I threw it away. If I want unfounded negativity I will turn on TV news. So disappointed.

Christmas on the Island
While this book is part off a series, this was the first book I've read by the Scottish author, Jenny Colgan. I was intrigued by the normal life patterns of the Island of Muhr. While the island is fictitious, it closely resembles those in the Orkneys or the Shetland Islands north of Scotland along the North Sea. Other reviewers have critiqued the slams against US politics, attitude to LGBT, it was easy to jump over those being intrigued by the language, the setting and the description of the cultural differences. It was an easy read, taking American readers to a different area of the world. Kudos.
