DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! COULD EASILY BE FATAL FOR DOGS!!!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! COULD EASILY BE FATAL FOR DOGS!!!!!I cannot stress this enough. This is dangerous and I honestly feel this should be taken off amazon. I have gotten these types of bones before but never had results like this. They are extremely brittle, yet only break apart into VERY SHARP LITTLE PIECES.I don't care if they're messy, my dog loves bones, but I will not risk this possibly killing him. Take a look at the picture, I feel like I have a shank in my hand, I poked myself and I could easily have drawn blood. Also the knob at the end of the bone broke off, it is bigger than a golf ball, and hard. I have a 100 lb dog but I am 100% positive he would have choked on that if he had swallowed it, which he would have.Keep in mind this picture was taken around only 4 minutes after I gave my dog this bone.UPDATE 4/1/16: Today is the day after I gave my dog the bone. Yesterday he threw up twice, and last night once. I found pieces of bone shards all over the floor. My dog never throws up, he hasn't in months. He was also coughing yesterday for about 8 hours because of bone shards stuck in his throat. How amazon sells this product is honestly beyond me. I got a 2 pack and am returning the second bone. Please, please, please do not buy this for your dogs safety.

Deadly product for dogs
I attached a photo of what was left of these 2 bones 30 minutes after giving them to my 20-30 lb dogs (Boston terrier and a mixed breed). As u can see, the bones were consumed in a very unnatural way. These bones shattered into sharp pieces which can choke your dog or cause serious damage to the intestines. My Boston (thankfully) vomited everything up multiple times nearly 10min after consuming his bone and the bone fragments in the vomit were large and razor sharp. I'm still monitoring my mixed dog.I have given them other bones from Amazon (cow, bison) which took months for them to whittle down in a very natural process. If you truly care about your dogs well being, do not feed them this product.

Be wary! Bought from other sources & consistent a 5* product but bones I got from Amazon were rotten & dangerous!
I wish I'd read the reviews before buying! Now, I've bought this product numerous times from farm stores & pet stores and it's always been a five star product. I bought a few packs for my 4 loyal furry friends, and these bones are rotten, actually rotten. Rather than being a solid bone that will break up into a few pieces at first and then being slowly ground down, these bones started to break up when opening the package. They didn't smell as I'd expect a bad one to, so I still gave them to the dogs but watched and scooped up really small pieces both when opening the packages and as the dogs chewed and they broke into shards. Even under my cautious watchful eyes, two of my dogs started to choke on said shards and off to the garbage these went. I'd called the vet to ask if I should worry in case any were swallowed and about vomiting that ensued as I didn't know what to think and that's when the vet said it sounded like they were rotten and/or not properly made as far as smoking/drying out thoroughly. This also led to me bring in my doggies because I was concerned, so my inexpensive treat became costly indeed. I wish I'd known what to watch out for! In the past, the marrow was dry and a treat the dogs slowly savored as they wore down the bone edges, the middle bone part lasting as long as a month at times. The marrow in these bones was a soft pasty affair exposed as the bones fell apart. Unfortunately, there may be some kind of quality issue. All that said, if solved, I'd gladly buy again. I wish I could've returned them but I didn't think I could return the mess that fell apart when opening the packages. Also, at first I'd thought maybe they were just different but safe, but that was before the shards, the marrow paste, and subsequent dogs choking a bit and then the torture of four miserable dogs with bellyaches puking all over. I LOVE Redbarn products and buy many of them, from filled bones to food rolls, to wet foods, to hooves and generally would highly recommend them, but I'd never risk getting from Amazon again unless my order was replaced with unspoiled bones and I could be sure it was an accident. Even the best companies can't avoid the occasional quality issue, plus storage etc may be a factor. Be cautious and if you do get, please watch closely. Hopefully you'll get a good batch!
