Great kit. Complete, easy to use. Adds capability to my electrical toolkit.
I just used this on my winch install last week. The winch came with lots of 6 gage wire, most of it too long(although I appreciate the options). I was able to cut the wires with the included snips and put new large, copper terminals on the ends. The included heat shrink also helped give the install a professional look. I had to practice a bit, to be honest. The numbers on the dies don’t seem to correspond to the gage size of the wire or terminals. I found I just had to eyeball the final opening size with the size of the naked copper wire…this was the “10” setting, I believe. The crimping was tricky, too. I had to depress the handles about half way and tug the cables to confirm they were crimped. The first one I did absolutely crushed the terminals and destroyed them. It’s more just like hand crimps: you crimp down “just enough” but not more. It sounds more finicky than it is. Just give it a snug press and tug the terminal to make sure it’s fully seated. If not, put it back in and do 10% harder. But I got it right 100% of the time after the first crimp. I found that using some painter’s tape to hold the wire into the terminal while crimping helped, as you kind of need both hands to work the handles and things can slip out just at the wrong time. Then just peel off the tape when crimped for a clean look. I’m very happy with this complete kit. It did everything I wanted. Now I just have to find a carrying case/mini toolbox to organize all these bits. Very handy.

Good value and it appears to be of good quality too.
You would think that in a town of 40,000 people it would be possible to find some copper lugs. Nope, not happening. I ordered this kit from Amazon and with Prime it showed up in two days. I made the cable I needed in a matter of minutes. Everything worked great. It took longer for me to drive to several supply houses and a couple of big box stores than it did for me to order and make the electrical cable I needed. I questioned the price as maybe too cheap, poor quality. Though I don't do this professionally and I will use this occasionally, I spent more on gas looking for lugs than this kit with extra lugs and shrink wrap and even a crimper. This is a deal for me.

Very nice crimpers
It works great. The length of the handles makes easy to make a good crimp, without becoming unwieldy. If you use the correct guage wire with the correct crimp, it makes a very solid connection. It would benefit from a better set of instructions provided with the crimpers. It took a little bit of research to find out exactly how to set the size and position of how to clamp it.

Best option for 6 gauge ring terminal install
Came in clutch and got the job done. The die numbers aren’t very useful but all in all it was exactly what I needed and a great price.

Works, but crimps are a bit ugly
I bought this to crimp some screw terminals to the end of some braided steel cable. I didn't need heavy duty load bearing crimps, so this was an economical solution, especially since it came with an assortment of lugs. For 1/8" cable, the 10ga (size 6) die is the best. But after several tries, I still haven't figured out the trick to getting clean crimps without creating "wings" where the dies meet. If you try to rotate the lug and re-crimp to push them back in, it just creates some going the other way. Perhaps some better quality lugs would make a difference, or maybe a true 10ga copper wire would work better. It is a little awkward to get started unless the cable fits really snug in the lug. You almost need 3 hands: 1 to hold the cable in the lug and two to squeeze the tool. I find I can manage ok if I rest the tool on a table so I only need one hand on the tool while I hold the cable with the other. It may also work if you (carefully) hold the cable in a vise or something so you can just concentrate on working the tool. The good news is they seem to hold ok. I can't pull the cable out even though I'm sure they weren't designed with stainless cable in mind. I just use pliers to flatten the wings as best I can then shrink tube covers the sins. As for the cable cutters...umm...not great. They are a little stiff out of the box, but working them back and forth and adding a little machine oil to the pivot helped that problem. The bigger issue is that they appear to be made of some very soft steel. They might work ok on aluminum or copper wire, but anything harder and the cutter *will* be damaged. Definitely not for braided steel cable. (guess how I know) It pretty much just flattened the edge where it contacted the steel while the cable remained unharmed. I was able to salvage it somewhat with a file and some patience, but lesson learned: Only the soft stuff. So overall, 3 stars. The price was reasonable and it met my immediate needs. If I was getting cleaner crimps and the cutter was more durable, it could be a 5 star tool.

Although it works just fine. The sizes are not correct for what’s actually needed so the crimps are squeezed sideways.

Easy to use, great product

The crimping tool is good. The lugs are not copper and there were no heat shields! Now need to buy separately.
