Jurassic Park: The Original Topps Trading Card Series

Author did a excellent job pulling all this together. Love the book, satisfied my urge to collect the cards because I can see them all here lol! My BIGGEST disappointment is in the franchise, not a single card (NOT EVEN ONE) featured Mr. Arnold. Is it a coincidence the only black character isn’t given a card? Because I can think of many scenes that would make a cool card to name just a few examples off the top of my head: 1. “Hold onto your butts” 2. The severed arm scene with Ellie in the shed. Those are two I 100% expected to see featured. 3. “I can’t get Jurassic Park back online without Denis Nedry” (This would have been a cool moment to share a fact from the book about how many times he actually DID get the power back on before it failed) 4. “No no no, he’s out of his mind.” There were a number of scenes to make a call out to the Samuel L Jackson. His character was not as “background” as these cards are making it seem. The lawyer even gets a feature picture and is seen in scene backgrounds multiple other cards but Jackson doesn’t get even one? 5. Character Card and/or Cut Death Scene (Arnold was set to have had his own fully shot death scene if not for the actual storm that tore down the set. That would have been great information for just a simple character card like the others got but with a behind the scenes angle) Overall: - Loved the book, appreciated with the work the author put in so I give 5 stars. - Personally very disappointed with the franchise for essentially scrubbing out S.Jackson’s character from any representation here.

Great at to the collection, comes with promo cards that are great addition to the original card sets

Super cool. Old school nostalgia. Brought me back to the feeling of spending $2 on packs of these cards, opening up the red packaging and going through them. A definite winner, worth the price.

I give them a 95%. My older brother had a whole case of these he got for his birthday so I remember them fondly. Only real thing I would fix would have the hologram cards actually be able to work like the original vs the two pictures they show to make the images. Also a footnote to correct the 40 ft dilophosaurus on the card misprint. Everyone here complaining obviously didn't see the original cards because they were grainy too! Remember this was way before HD. Also the guy mentioning the 69 joke must be immature because it just shows the card price and no joke is there. This book shows every card in the sets plus the original box. You also get bonus exclusive cards. Definitely plan on getting more of these books.

Being a Fan of Jurassic Park since the very beginning and even reading the books I was thrilled when this came out. It might only be pictures of the cards in the series but it also comes with a limited 4 card set in the back. and some behind the scenes things. I was disappointed however for the price paid it didn't come with a sticker.

I loved the Jurassic Park cards. I remember the original line of toys had cards with them that were art work... scenes not quite from the movie. They were awesome. I thought I remembered getting them in packs of cards, too, but these are almost ALL screen grabs. Oh well, still cool

I bought the book as a gift for my son because it clearly said it contained "four bonus trading cards." When he opened it, the trading cards were NOT included.

Like another reviewer, I was considering trying to hunt down the original trading cards, mainly cause I was only 4 when they came out—I am SO happy I found this book! It scratches that itch and feels more aesthetic to me. Another reviewer mentioned being disappointed with the size, saying it’s too small; I disagree. I think this is a good size for a niche hardcover. It’s very hefty & has a quality printed feel to it. The pictures are so saturated & vibrant, plus I LOVE the little captions that explain more about that specific card (only some of the cards, mind you, but a vast majority). It also comes with the bonus cards, which was such a nice touch. It’s definitely a coffee table book & I do love it. Though, my one disappointment is (as was mentioned in another review) that Mr. Arnold (Samuel L. Jackson’s character) does *not* have a character card…Dr. Harding, the veterinarian, does & he has significantly less screen time; he’s not even super important to the plot (in the film). That seems like a missed opportunity. Overall, super happy though!

Endlich wieder 1993! Nicht dass dieses Buch nur den Zweck der Vervollständigung einer Übersicht bietet, nein es werden auch ein paar Hintergrundinfos (leider nicht zur Druckauflage der einzelnen Serien) mitgeliefert. Die Darstellung der Bilder ist ok, obwohl mir Seite mit Komplettübersichten auch fehlen. Ich hätte mir auch mehr Infos zu den einzelnen Bildern bzw. zB zu Art von Crash gewünscht. Aber egal. Das beste kommt nämlich am Schluss. 4 neue Karten! Was das Herz eines jeden der diese Karten vollständig gesammelt hat oder sammelt nochmal kurz höher schlagen lässt.

I absolutely love it, reminded me how many of these cards I had when I was a kid. Really nice touches in there too!
