The Inner Smile: Increasing Chi Through the Cultivation of Joy

Powerful and Profound... this is the Taoist exercise everyone should know...
Although the other reviewers are correct in stating most of this material is repetition from other books, it still deserves 5 stars, easily. This is likely now the best intro to Mantak Chia's work. Why is this material incredibly valuable?-The inner smile is an incredible exercise for improving health-The benefits can be felt almost immediately!-It is one of the quickest ways I know to turn your attitude around-Although Mantak Chia describes tons of Taoist energy exercises in his books, I feel that the Inner Smile is by far the most important one-The Inner Smile is incredibly easy... virtually everyone gets great results right away.I enjoy playing with a lot of different meditations... but when I have trouble, it usually only takes a few minutes of the Inner Smile to get me focused, relaxed, and happy again. In addition, repetition is required for learning. If you read about a meditation, and practice it for a while, it is very valuable to go back and read it again. You will likely learn something new everytime, as your perspective will continue to change from your consistent practice. Having it in another book just gives you another reason to study the material again.I still have tough days from time to time... this implies to me that I have more to learn/understand/integrate about the Inner Smile, even though I feel it has been of tremendous benefit already. If you aren't familiar with this exercise... Get This Book! If you are familiar with it, and you practice regularly... then you probably don't need it... but I'm more than happy to spend $10 to support the guy who introduced me to this.keep smiling,Benjamin

Keep writing Manak Chia
Another book that not only expands the teaching of Mantak Chia but compliments the book as well. I have a majority of his older books and the books are a little deep but beneficial for everyone.

In depth detail of the Inner Smile practice
Personally I got more out of this book on the Inner Smile practice than from reading about it in Mantak Chia's other books. I got the ebook version of this. It really helped me to understand the importance of smiling to all the organs, the order in which to do it and what negative emotions to look for in specific organs to help dissipate those negative emotions. It also has been helping me to start to feel and connect with the individual organs (which honestly I didn't really believe was something I'd learn how to do).

Pearls
The Inner Smile is one of the foundation parts of the Universal Healing Tao System, created by Grandmaster Mantak Chia. This meditation cultivates such basic virtues as love, joy, courage, kindness, openness, fairness, and gentleness and purges the soul of such sins as hatred, cruelty, despair, and fury; it also lessens impatience, worry, and fear, regarded as moral/spiritual weaknesses. Thus, the Inner Smile meditation is a remedy for sins and a way to attain high moral integrity. I got the evident results of this meditation in 1 month of daily practice.

Smile often at your own organs:)
This is an amazing book. If you want to feel better instantly, read this book. It is packed with healthy material that I have never read in any books. Mantak Chia is a master and has written around 31 books. I purchased six of them at one time and each one is completely different material. Unbelievable how much knowledge this man has. I sure wish I could study under him. Thailand is rather far from me, but I am not ruling it out. His expertise is incredibly healing. A truly great read. You will be smiling more and have a new appreciation for your own organs.

Not Bad, But Not Necessary
If you read Mantak Chia's first book, Awakening Healing Energy Through the Tao: The Taoist Secret of Circulating InternalPower, then you don't need to buy this one, The Inner Smile. The Inner Smile is only about 90 pages long and is basically just extracted from the larger book, Awakening Healing Energy. There is some helpful information in the back of The Inner Smile, but it is duplicated in Chia's 3rd book in this series, The Six Healing Sounds. If you buy Awakening Healing Energy and The Six Healing Sounds, you won't need to spend your money on The Inner Smile.

Excellent techniques for becoming a better person
I enjoy the book and have used the techniques for my own well being. I would recommend that anyone who is interested in being more balanced and a better person use the Mantak Chia books.

Health and happiness - a guide
Smiling creates positive feelings and energy. This book teaches ancient Tao practices to facilitate learning how to self accept and being to self heal and self love as we are. The inner smile mediations here are internal wisdom that compliments Qigong the gentle meditations, self massage and breathing that is from the same source as Tai Chi. There are guided audios online to be found too. Enjoy.

A brilliant book, originally published under the title: Transforming stress into vitality, which is exactly what is does.
One of the most potent ways of dealing with stress I've ever come across - it demands a certain amount of effort and concentration but is worth every bit of both. This technique really works.

Chi Smile
An intersting concept of smiling from within - exercise the system and I think it may work. Good book, good delivery and something I will enjoy later as I get more experienced with the system. Recommend this quite highly
