Bought this to protect a metal door in a barn. It feels very heavy duty. It can flex slightly for a curve shape if needed - it’s not completely rigid, but the flex also helps to absorb impact. I was able to cut it to size rather quickly with a box knife. It would be good for large area blunt hits/bumps, I don’t know if it will protect against sharp edges, since I was able to cut it with the a box knife razor blade - had to run the razor blade several times over it but it did cut through. I cut the back out so i could fit it over the door edge.

This is now light piece of rubber. It has a hollow core but it is very heavy duty rubber. I'm using it on my floating boat lift to prevent damage to the outboard lower unit incase I accidently hit it. It will work both above and below water. It appears to be very weather proof. I used 1/4-20 hardware to attach and the pre-drlled holes worked fine.
