Wahoo TICKR FIT Heart Rate Armband, Bluetooth, ANT+

Doesn't pair via bluetooth under Windows 10, ANT+ works well
Summary:Don't buy if you need to pair with a Windows 10 PC via bluetooth. Works well if you also buy an ANT+ dongle.Details:After going backwards and forwards with Wahoo Fitness support, and getting a replacement TICKR, the final result is that it won't pair with current Windows 10 devices using bluetooth (tested with two TICKR FITs, on two different machines), "since a recent Windows 10 update" (support didn't specify which), and they recommend using ANT+ instead. For a desktop PC, this means you'll have to also purchase an ANT+ dongle. In the same order, I also bought aΒ CooSpo armband heart rate monitor , which DOES pair with both of my Windows 10 machines via bluetooth - unfortunately it frequently loses the connection and as such is not recommended. However, CooSpo also sell aΒ USB ANT+ dongle , which works very well with the TICKR (my dongle is an older verison and much larger, but has the same ASIN). The caveat is that your software will have to explicitly support ANT+. In my case, I was using open source software called "Cardia" (available on Github), which cannot speak the ANT+ protocol; I have switched to the non-free "Pulse Monitor" which has so far worked perfectly with the TICKR - not a single disconnection. With both the CooSpo HRM and the Wahoo TICKR, over both bluetooth and ANT, there is a good five to ten second lag between what is shown as your heart rate and your actual heart rate. This may not be a problem for you, but it is quite annoying for me.The TICKR feels reasonably solid, easy to clean with an iso-wipe, and the strap has not degenerated yet (in other reviews Wahoo say they have fixed this), and even then there is a spare included in the box. The charging cable requires you to plug it in via USB, and is a magnetic disc that prevents you from mis-connecting it to the TICKR. The connection between the two is quite solid.I have only connected it to an Android device in order to run the Wahoo Utility and check for a firmware update - as of now, the current firmware is 1.0.13. Note that you NEED to grant the "location" permission in order for the app to function and be able to see the TICKR. I have not used the Wahoo Fitness Workout Tracker except as a troubleshooting step to verify the hardware wasn't broken.

The Best HR Sensor EVER!
So much better than the sweaty under-moob chest straps that are more commonly available. Easy to slip on to the forearm, battery life is great. Iβd say my only criticism is that the charging dock is dedicated for use by this device, so DONβT LOSE IT! Its USB so no problem finding somewhere to plug that in these days. Comes with a spare strap which iβve not had to use yet.Cost is up there but its a quality bit of kit.I think you should treat yourself to the best ππ

Reliable accurate and easy to use
I bought this to use on a Peloton bike and it works really well. It's easy and comfortable to wear and I find it almost as accurate as a chest strap. Not quite as responsive, but much easier to use. The rechargeable battery lasts a long time between charges and I haven't had any problems after six months of regular use.I occasionally use this monitor for running along with the free Wahoo Fitness app. It works well and is a reliable basic fitness app.

annoying intial issues.
1. The proprietary USB lead is ridiculous small. Why not use an ordinary USB 3 charger? I guess they wanted to make more money with accessories. Not cool.2. It would have been useful to have a resting heartbeat function as a template, so you could get a base level across time, as your fitness improves. I mean it is a heart rate monitor, right?3. Slightly concerned that the tickr fit heart rate kept on increasing when i wasn't wearing it. Got me wondering how accurate it is if it's got me clocking in at 120bpm when i'm not wearing it.4. Why do i have to go through 3 pages to get to see how much battery power is left? Shouldn't that be an icon on the first page?

Won't connect to pc π‘
It monitors your heart rate, yeah :)im not going into how accurate this is compared to other types or brands, that stuff is all over the web. What i am going to say is that this thing wont connect to my PC. it detects it, but when you click connect, it just sits there connecting forever (tested on multiple PC's) the cadence and speed sensors connected ok, happy days, spent about 2 hours, disconnecting this and adding it again, along with the cadence and speed sensors. turns out. this thing doesn't connect to PC's, why i have no idea, the speed and cadence connected no trouble, to either Iphone or pc, this though, no chance, trying to find out why and i can;t, other than it just wont, according to their website it states that it will connect to a pc but you should use an Ant+ connection.UpdateAfter speaking with their Support, they suggest using Ant+ as this is designed to work with fitness devices.Bit annoyed that I now have to spend another Β£15 on top of the Β£65 I've already spent.

Great Heart Rate Armband, rubbish strap
Having worn a chest Heart Rate Monitor for cycling over nearly 20 years, it was a revelation to dispense with the discomfort and use the Tickr Fit armband instead. I use the armband paired with a Garmin Edge 1000, worn under a long sleeved cycling jersey, so the armband is supported by the jersey sleeve, I don't know yet how stable it will be when I am wearing a short sleeved top and it is a faff to put on as the strap seems too flimsy, but once on I hardly notice it. The Tickr Fit paired immediately with the Garmin and has worked faultlessly, unlike a number of other HRMs I have tried in the past (for example, the HRM that came with my Garmin 705 cycle computer never worked and went in the bin). Like other reviewers, I have compared the accuracy to a Tickr chest heart rate monitor, and the Tickr Fit armband seems to be accurate. It holds the change well, but that strap is stretching every use, so has to be adjusted for fit on my arm each time, I think the strap needs a redesign, I can't see the strap lasting long. As a precaution, I don't put the strap in the washing machine, I hand wash in luke warm water. It would be 5 stars with a better strap..
