Yes some started to leak, we used them for holy water and the corks would get wet as well.

Is this able to stand up

yes, the base is flat allowing it to easily stand on it's own. though given it's height in relation to it's diameter and weight it is a little bit unstable when empty. stability when filled would be largely dependent on distribution of mass within the vessel.
