Q: What about a 6” wrasse what size

I used it to catch dragon wrasse it was very effective but had to modify trap to catch him

Q: What size fish is this recommended up to?

mollies are easy to catch, as are other surface feeders. Bottom dwellers are hard to entice. Limit of 3" fish probably.

Q: would this work with rimmed aquariums?

yes it can work with euro bracing and regular plastic trim up to 3/4"
