Replacement cap does work
I was not sure what the quality of this cap would be like, and whether it would fit or be able to take care of my 'Check Engine' light which had been on for months, informing me that there was a minor emissions leak. As soon as I installed the new cap and erased the code about the Check Engine information, it went away and has not returned after a couple of days of driving my car. Except for the green inside colour, the cap is identical to the original VW cap.

Decent
Got this to replace my lost gas cap on my 2016 Volkswagen Jetta. It fit perfectly. Unfortunately, I was unable to attach it to the gas tank cover to keep it secure when refilling.

Works perfectly
So if you have a check engine light on for your vw gas cap,this is what you need.I drove about 200 miles since replaced and still no code..easy fix

Works, but some flaws
Obviously at the price point you can’t complain too much.. but the gas cap doesn’t “Click”. Also it’s extremely tight (which I like in a way). Although it’s very hard to get it off. Thinking about returning it but I’m going to see if it keeps the light off for my emissions. So we’ll see!

Horrible spring mechanism
The spring mechanism that allows the gas cap to „click“ when tight is way too strong, or the injection molding of the spring mechanism parts have horrible tolerances. Requires pliers to tighten to the „click“, to the point where the wide jaw pliers leave a mark in the plastic from the amount of force required. Marring on plastic from required force shown.Find another one of the 10 similarly priced identical caps.

Exactly What I Thought
My car needed a new gas cap. This part is apparently very hard to find in town, so I ordered through Amazon. The cap arrived quickly and fits like a glove.
