Lots of bad reviews becuase folks think this is a welding prep tool….its not..this version is for making flares for compression nuts and fittings and it works perfectly for that.

I've done a bunch of 1/4" and 3/8" joins. I do have the luxury of immediately testing my joints. Getting 100% good flares with these. Do remember, the tube is going to get *hot* in the 5 seconds or so you are making the flare. Don't touch near it right away. And remember to put the nut on first. (Eventually you won't, but you'll think it's funny when you remember this. There are 4 cut off flares under me right now, so you're doing better than me.)

The kit is decent however I’ve noticed compared to another competitors brand the joints are barely large enough. Very shallow swages. Next time I’d rather pay the couple extra bucks…

These swaging tool drill bits do not fit a standard drill. May only fit a lock and key drill. Also the measurements imprinted on the swag are not correct. The 3/4 is not truly 3/4 and the 5/8 is not truly 5/8. Those are the two sizes we needed and the tool did not work to flare pipe
