Do the job...I just didn't need them.
tried them on. Could see the value that they would have but the vest didn't bother my shoulders to much so I returned them. Used vest for Murph and was worried I would regret returning the shoulder pads but I didn't. Found vest comfortable enough...

Works great with as is, even better with extra gel pad
Works well even on another brand (X-Vest) weight vest. For extra comfort, underneath I wear a gel pad for hot/cold pain relief at room temperature. Before my collar bones were hurting. Very rough
It helps by making the straps feel wider but the material is so rough that it can cause some chafing if it rubs against exposed neck skin
