What’s the difference between this and wd40? Seems wd40 would work just fine.

WD-40 is in fact a specialized lubricant that a simple google search will reveal and it’s also a busted myth on their website that it isn’t. I’ve used WD-40 on several Kershaw knives to lubricate for quicker assisted opening and it works great. Just use it very minimally.

It work for Butterfly knifes?

I have not used it on my only butterfly knife, but I don't see why not.

Can this knife oil be used to oil my knives?

It's mainly for the hinge pivot. It's a light oil to allow for a quick open.
