Q: Do these straws work well in hot drinks?

They melt a lot faster in hot drinks. My hubby tried one with coffee, and the bit that was under liquid melted away in just a few minutes.

Q: Do these straws crack easily like some other compostable straws?

In my experience, no. A carbonated drink seems to make them soggy faster, but it's still better than other paper straws. I really like these!

Q: Why can't these be shipped to California?

Don’t know. They were used at last years Super Bowl played in LA.
