Q: Regarding the dishwasher. Can they be put in the bottom or the top?

I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher. I did and they are dull and the inside is even pitted. They still work fine but you can really see the difference from the ones I wash by hand. I put pictures in my review. I always put plastic on the top .

Q: Has anyone used these in a cooler? I need containers that will keep melted ice water from making a soggy mess of the contents.

I have and they were great! I went on a 4 day camping trip and used these in my cooler, no water got in. I highly recommend them.

Q: Can these be put in the dishwasher?

I would recommend not putting into the dishwasher because the heat could warp the lids.
