I'm still unsure about it.
I used this cup for the first few periods after I bought it. The first time was a total mess and pretty awful experience until I got it right. Every time since has been... still not so great. I like that I'm not tossing a bunch of pads in the trash each month, but at the same time, I can't seem to get it right. I have given birth to two children, so I bought the large size, but I'm wondering if maybe the small would be better for me? On the first couple days of my period when the flow is heavier, it almost ALWAYS leaks. I just can't seem to get it to suction properly, if I rotate it and it doesn't feel like it's collapsed or anything. It stays in there, but it leaks, so maybe it's just a problem with the cup design, I'm really not sure.I also noticed my cramps got a LOT worse when I started wearing these, like as soon as I notice I'm spotting (no cramps yet) I put the cup in and I IMMEDIATELY start cramping, and it's a different kind of cramping, like the kind where your vagina feels like it's being physically stretched out (not like childbirth, but that's the only way I can think to explain it). I guess it's the feeling of "there's a foreign object in my vagina" which I suppose is a normal bodily response... SO I actually went back to pads for a few months because of the pain, and then I sorta realized, hmm my periods are still pretty painful, it's just a slightly different kind of pain, SO I'm deciding to use them again and see how it goes now.NOTE: I also quit caffeine in the last 2 months, and my cycles are changing as a result (it's common for caffeine to interfere with women's hormones and worsen PMS symptoms), so I'm hoping that alone will make my periods less painful.I'm hopeful the cup will start to work better for me, as I purchased it specifically to stop sending excess trash to the landfill. I can't afford to get those more expensive menstrual cups with more reviews, and I already have this one, so it'd be wasteful to throw it away and buy another one.I have no clue if my review was in any way helpful, but for what it's worth, I do think it's at least worth a try for any woman interested in reducing her waste. In that respect, it has been very effective for me, and even if I don't use it consistently, it has still saved a lot of trash from landfill.

Best Cup
I purchased several cups to try in 2018. This was by far the most comfortable. It's not too hard like others and fits the best. It took some getting used to putting it in but after my first period I had no issues with leaks. I've purchased the same cup several times over the past 5 years and will continue to only use this brand.

Every woman should own this!
I have been hearing great things about menstrual cups and decided to give one a try about 6 months ago. I read a bunch of reviews and decided on the Dutchess Cup because people really seemed to like it and it was cheaper than its well-known competitor. It comes in either a single pack or 2 pack. I chose the single because I wasn’t sure if I’d even end up liking it and because I really didn’t see the need for 2. 6 months later I think I made the right choice. If properly cared for I imagine the cup will last a long time.So... using the cup...I followed the directions on how to fold it twice and insert it. No problem, I got it in there without much of an issue. The trick to using this successfully without leaks is to make sure the cup pops all the way back open once it’s inside you. There are a few tricks I’ve used. 1) Spin the cup a full 360 degrees. 2) insert your finger and run it around the outside of the cup to make sure it’s open. 3) do a deep squat and swivel your hips around a little, this helps the cup open and move to the perfect place inside you. It sounds like a big production but really goes quite quickly and remember- you only have to do this twice a day (I do it when I wake up and before bed). I think I have a pretty normal period and have never come close to overfilling the cup.Removal is pretty simple. I insert a finger alongside the cup, push one side gently to release suction and then just pull it out carefully from the bottom. Some people use the stem to pull it out, but I found the stem uncomfortable so I cut it off. After dumping the contents I wash the cup with gentle soap and hot water. Once my period is over I wash it extra well and sterilize it by boiling to get it ready for next time.I feel like this makes using a menstrual cup sound like a lot of work, but it actually feels like I don’t even get a period anymore. Not having to carry around tampons and deal with them every few hours is a game changer. One last tip: if the cup makes you feel like you have to pee a lot or makes you extra crampy, try to stick with it. My body got used to having the cup inside after about 2 periods and I’m glad I didn’t give up.If you liked this review please mark it as “helpful” below!

Would definitely recommend!
It takes some getting used to, and can be uncomfortable to insert and retrieve, but it's worth getting used to.Pro's I definitely have less cramps. I was typically going through a super tampon ever 1.5/2 hours and wearing a pad due to leaking. I am able to dump and wash/reuse cup 3/4 times a day with zero leaking. I was also able to sleep all night without messing with it.Cons tail is a bit short I have to push quite a bit to get to it. I also saw a foling tutorial on another sight, that showed different folding techniques and a couple of those ways worked better for me then the instructions.Overall: Worth every cent! Love it! So glad I made the switch!
