Cute and generally straightforward
We've had our windflyer alarm clock for about a month now. We bought it for our 1.5 year old mostly to use the "OK to Wake" function to help him learn to sleep in a bit. After several weeks of waking up before 5am, we wanted to try something new. Together with adjusting his naps and bedtime, I think the clock is really working! We set the 'sleep' mode to turn on at bedtime, and we could customize the brightness of the nightlight, and the volume and tone of the white noise. I also really like that you can adjust the brightness of the white light from the numbers and the face, although that has to be done manually every time and isn't part of the sleep mode setting. Our son has started saying "clock! clock!" every evening in anticipation of the sleep mode turning on and he definitely associates it with bedtime. In the morning, the white noise turns off and the red light turns green at a preset time, and lately the first thing he says to me when I come in is "CLOCK!" The directions are mostly clear and the settings seem easy to program. There were a few times that the white noise turned off a while after the sleep mode came on, and my partner and I had to have extended discussions about how we accidentally changed the settings, but I think we figured it out. The tricky part is if you want to start sleep mode or wake mode early, you're probably going to mess up your presets. A function that I would like to see is a button or switch to toggle sleep mode on and off outside of the preset times, because often bath takes a little longer, or he's extra sleepy and wants to go down ten minutes early, and that's always going to be an issue. There are also options to set naptime sleep/wake times, but I don't use those because, again, naptime is always a little bit different. It is easy to turn just the white noise on and off, though, so that's how I solve that problem.I think the Windflyer is great and it's serving our needs almost perfectly. I did not like the idea of needing to fiddle with bluetooth all the time for the Hatch clock because I'm trying to use my phone less around my toddler, not more. I really like that the volume and brightness on the Windflyer are easy to customize. I'll also add that I was concerned about white noise volume in a lot of similar products on the market, and the Windflyer falls safely within the recommended decibel range.

Does the job!
This clock hasn't been totally life-changing for us, but it does have all of the features I was looking for and functions as expected! Our 3 year old son was getting up and coming into our room at 5:30 most mornings, and while he still whines and cries sometimes when we tell him he has to get back in bed until his clock turns green, he does seem to get it and we fight less about when it's ok for him to get up. He is also proud to tell people that "red means sleep, green means wake up!"The things I really like about his clock are: 1. Multiple colors and brightness options. Even on the brighter settings, the light is soft and doesn't wake our kid up when it changes to green. It's a nice nightlight brightness. 2. I like that there are so many programmable options. Sleep and wake times are up to you, you can turn the "play" setting on or off and adjust the duration on it (the first night we used this it defaulted on, and the "pale green" light looks pretty green if you didn't know the difference, so we didn't argue when our son was up 10 minutes before the time it was set to turn green but we turned this feature off after that). I like that you can turn on lights and sound or lights only. Also it's nice that the clock saves settings even when it is unplugged, relocated, and plugged back in. 3. The clock is a nice size and pretty sleek looking - not overly childish and goofy looking. I do like the face that changes from sleeping to winking during play mode, and smiling for wake up time. 4. I like that the buttons are on the bottom so it's not super tempting for kids to mess with, and the lock feature is great to further prevent tampering. 5. With all of the features and options (like an alarm setting), I can see this being useful long-term!Things that are just ok about this clock: 1. It has to be plugged in. Not a deal-breaker, but it would be nice if it functioned on a charge, especially for travel. 2. It's a little tedious to figure out the settings. I was confused the first night I set it up, I modified something after it was "sleep time", and the red light turned off. I had to re-set the sleep time to a few minutes in the future to get it to turn back on. I think it was just because if you "interrupt" the sleep feature, it will turn off until the next night. However, once we got it set to what we wanted, we haven't had to mess with it since and it has functioned perfectly.Overall, many more pros than cons, and I'm super happy that I chose this ok to wake clock!

Cute! Kids love it
My kids were so excited to get this alarm clock! They were actually asking me to check Amazon tracking all day! We switched from the Hatch to this because our oldest is getting to the age where we are starting to familiarize him with time so the digital clock was a huge plus!!! Little brother didn’t want to be left out and we got it on a deal so it was perfect! This has worked great at nap and bed time as it has both visual and auditory cues for the kids. It has cut our bedtime routine way down since they can see it’s time for bed! The kids call it Teddie and having the face is huge for them!! The only gripe I have is that the wake light overrides the sound machine so when the sound turns off, it actually wakes the kids up. Heavy sleepers probably wouldn’t care, but my kids are light sleepers and any disturbance in sound is hard for them. I may try having it turn off sooner when they are in deeper sleep, but then it doesn’t drown out the other if they get up earlier in the morning. Otherwise a great concept and easy to use! I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could because of the sound machine turning off.
