It does have a smell when it is first opened and it will last a while but does disappear after a while. It took a couple of days to flatten out. but it is a nice thick mat, heat does not seem to reach the underside and overall worth the money

I love this mat! I am using it right on my sewing table, making the execution of my projects faster and smoother. The pad is a. Ice thickness and protects my desk beautifully while also resulting in perfect pressing.

I ordered this mat because I was tired of hauling out the ironing board during my mask-making project. Leaving the ironing board up really got in the way as well. My mat came in one day. It is 17”X24” and large enough to accommodate my mask projects. It is very dense but not too heavy and it’s size will fit in my closet with my sewing machine. So far, it is working well. I did see a review that does not encourage steam ironing but so far I’ve not had problem. I will be cognizant of maybe not using the steam surge button too often. But as I said, it makes doing small ironing jobs much faster and simpler. I can recommend it on that alone.

I was skeptical about this wool mat but I was pleasantly impressed with how well it fits the length of my ironing board and what a difference it makes in the pressing of my quilting fabrics and the seams in my quilting projects. It’s a great value for the price.There’s a slight wool smell but that will dissipate with time and air exposure. It comes in a carrying bag but I highly doubt that I’ll be able to get the mat back in that bag. It laid out flat right out of the bag, zero curling.I’ve heard stories of people burning their wool mats, be sure to use the wool setting and not rest your iron on a silicone ironing mat as that will cause damage to your wool mat.

This replaced my clunky ironing board, and I love it. It works well on top of my washing machine. It’s nice and thick, and large enough to iron most things easily.I gave it 4 stars bc it smells a bit like a petting zoo when you use it. I know it’s because it’s real wool. I haven’t noticed the odor lingering on anything I ironed, to be fair. Great product overall.

The Wool Mat is very nice! I purchased the 15” x 54”. It is a good size for my ironing board. I was concerned it might not be thick enough but it is actually 1/2” thick!The only thing that was disappointing is the mat took 10 days to arrive. The mat came on a wool bag and shipped in a used box. The seems to be in good shape so I am pleased.

Makes ironing cotton a breeze. Iron just glides over fabric. Reduces strain on my arm, which as a quilter, is a real time saver. Very pleased with this product and highly recommend for your sewing room and apartment, where there’s no room for ironing board.

Am using this for pressing and ironing.It’s also good to use when block printing (but make sure its covered by an old cloth so it doesn’t get covered in paint!)Took a while to make its way through customs but it was worth it.
