Is carrier too bulky to travel with for my 12 month old?

I would not recommend it for airplane travel. Mainly because of the foam seat, which is the part that makes it bulky and not able to fold up and store easily.

can I use this with 1 month old? He is already more than 11 lbs

I use it with my 17lb 4 month old so you shouldn't have any problems.
