I picked up the Sony record player after my parents found a stash of old records from legendary artists like Elvis, Eric Clapton, KISS and more. It was exactly the motivation I needed to jump on thr vinyl record bandwagon. I chose the Sony player because of its cost and supposed good sound quality. I needed a record player with a pre-amp since my Sony STR-DN1080 receiver does not have a phono input. The record player is well packed and extremely simple to assemble. It just takes a couple of minutes to put the belt, platter, dust cover and connections to the receiver. The player itself is light and mostly plastic but it’s adequate. It looks sleek when assembled. Using the record player is easy as there is a off/standby button at the rear, a gain setting for the preamp and start/stop/rise-lower buttons at the front. The player can handle 33 and 45 rpm records. I listened to a few records and I haven’t heard such wonderful sound quality from any audio CD, super-audio CD, DSD file or streaming service. The perfect separation of each instrument and voice is absolutely incredible. Everyone today is missing out on what music should really sound like. Some of the records I tried were from 1965 and later so pops and crackles were evident on the dirtier scratched ones. I realize getting into vinyl records can be extremely expensive but I am more than happy with the Sony player as a first step into this hobby. Worth every penny to get introduced to how music really sounds like!

The product was a pleasant surprise to me. The setup was extremely easy. The sound of the ripped vinyl was superb. I was a bit skeptical on the sound quality of the ripped music initially but everything turned out well and good. Highly recommended to anyone who thought of digitalizing their inventory of vinyls.

I can't say enough about how pleased I am with this turntable. Being a baby boomer I have owned a few turntables during the era of component stereo systems. I abandoned vinyl with the introduction of CD's. I do stream music but have come to re-appreciate vinyl and it's physicality. This is a perfect turntable for my needs. I love the minimalist design, the easy bluetooth pairing (literally within two second after initial pairing) and it sounds fantastic with my Bose sound bar and subwoofer. I don't buy into much of what the vinyl fanatics say about only using traditional RCA connections , receiver/amps and floor speakers for pure sound. I don't have the space for all that anymore, Why not embrace technology that's easy to use, sounds great with a much smaller footprint? I have found that when records don't sound very good it's more of an issue with the pressing or mastering than with the equipment it's played on assuming you're using decent equipment! I also don’t believe that manual turntables are essential to the vinyl experience. Just place the record, give it a light brushing, push a button, let the automatic turntable do it’s thing. I did make two upgrades. I replaced the neoprene platter mat with a rubber one. The Feir mat sold here on Amazon is a great replacement at a minimal price. I placed it upside down so it has the same flat look as the original neoprene mat, with no sound degradation. I also replaced the included conical stylus with an upgraded elliptical stylus from LP Gear. That item is not sold on Amazon but direct from the manufacturer and is a smart add-on for about $50. I agree with others regarding the hard wired-in RCA cables. It would have been nice to have plugs instead and add the cables if you need them, but that is certainly not a problem. Just tuck them away out of sight. I disagree with reviews that say the that the mostly plastic build is "cheap." The design of the turntable far outweighs the well concealed fact that the unit is plastic/aluminum. Cleaning tip: to clean dust off the dust cover without scratching it, dampen a soft cloth or microfiber towel with water and "blot" the top of the cover instead of wiping it You'll pick up the dust and not leave any unsightly scratches. Enjoy your purchase!

This is my first vinyl record player and it's been great. There is a bit of setup when you get it (install the belt and platter) Clean sound, easy operation. No need for arm balancing like older players. Bluetooth for wireless connection listening and standard RCA output. The dust cover is also great for keeping everything clean. It comes with a 45 adaptor that stores in a socket on the side of the unit.
