What is the diameter of the hole for a lock hasp? I'm concerned as to the size of lock that this cover will accept.

The holes in the cover and base plate measure 3/16" in diameter. I checked with a 3/16" drill bit and it just passes through. I would recommend you use a lock with a shackle somewhat less so that it will pass through and pivot around to close.

Viewing the accompanying picture of the cover... It is hinged at the top, and you raise the cover by lifting it from the tab on the bottom left corner. That is all.

How can it be weatherproof if it has a hole in the top of the door that shows all the way through?

The hole is there for a screw but there’s a gasket that is behind it that makes it waterproof. It works great
