Gutted
Gutted. I had a Bialetti in plain aluminium years ago and it was amazing and I'm not the only one who agrees they are the best Italian stove top espresso makers. But sadly the Rainbow version doesn't seem to allow gas ring hobs although this isn't stated...cue horrible smoke discolouration on the bottom half, bubbly paint melting and crackling and even part of the handle melting. Just worsened over time (2-3 months use) and now impacting on taste. I'm so gutted as I always loved this company but they also failed to help me w customers services enquiries on email or Facebook. Although sold by Amazon EU they are the designers/manufacturers surely? Not sure whether to get another Bialetti now but it certainly WON'T be a Rainbow!

Poor Manufacturing
after using over 6months I have learned that it’s not best in the market. The water never finishes and goes to topSo you always left with standing water.Seems that it’s engineering issue making top part longer and to highIf you Try to keep to long coffee burns and you left with bitter taste whilst trying to get all water from bottom.

Makes great coffee but almost too small for gas pan support
Already have a 6 cup Mokapot that was used on an electric hob. I wanted a smaller Mokapot for camping etc and to use on a new gas hob at my new apartment. The pot still makes great coffee but the pot/base is very small and only just balances on the edges of the small pan support for the smallest gas hob ring (video). You have to be very careful not to miss the edges or knock it over. Perhaps a little unsafe around kids or those who are clumsy. Potential hot liquid hazard. It’s should be fine on an electric hob.I might attempt to buy some kind of flat grill that would sit on top of the pan support and under the Mokapot. Also as you can see in the images the RAINBOW writing has already worn after only 2 months. I don’t wash the pot with soapy water or scrub the pot, and I have only used the pot a handful of times so far.But other than that, the coffee is great and make enough for two small cups of coffee (if you’re adding milk).

Nice price as well.
Firstly, check out James Hoffman on YouTube about how to use this type pot. Looks a faff what he does, but it is quick.Secondly, buy a Bialetti heat plate. This will protect your pot and distribute the heat evenly.Thirdly, enjoy.

Colour fades
Very happy with it, but light blue now faded and covered in burned on coffee - although that is only to be expected.Be careful with handle and gas cookers - doesn't take much for it to start to melt
