Works Great
I faithfully rang the bell every time we went outside. My 1 year old aussie just looked at me with that look that says..."like I'm going to ring that stupid bell". She just wouldn't use it. After about three weeks of trying. I stopped using it. Amazingly, a week or so after that I was working at my computer and I heard the bell ring. I looked over and she had rung the bell to go outside. Since then, she always rings the bell when she wants to go outside. I must say, however, be careful what you wish for...she rings it some days and we play the let the dog out let the dog in game. She doesn't like to be outside without me so some days all she does is ring the bell to be let out. I will humor her with this since it is what I wanted her to do. Good Dog!

BUY THIS ONE!
Easily one of the best investments we made for our puppy, Ralphie. He was almost 8 weeks old when we got him and we worked diligently daily to potty train him for 6 weeks. He would go when we took him outside, but go just as easily on my expensive rug. He's pretty smart and it seemed like he knew he was supposed to go outside but didn't know how to tell us. He picked up on the potty bells pretty quickly, within a few days. Its been about 2 weeks and we have only had a few accidents. Once hung, I made him hit it several times, but he didnt seem to love that. Soon after it went up, he went over to investigate it and made it ding, I took him straight out and he used the restroom and immediatly got a treat. To start training, I waited until i knew he needed to go out and rang the bell, I cracked the door, shut it and rang the bell again... repeat, repeat, repeat. If he rings the bell and "goes" outside he gets praise and a treat. When it first went up, he would ring it occasionally to go play and we encouraged that, but no treat. We took road trip and we were away from home for almost a week. The one draw back to this model is it doesn't travel. However, I picked up the ribbon version (more expensive, cheeper quality) that hangs from the door to take on the road. We ended up not really using them because the constant jingle whenever the door opened was annoying. We actually hung these bells on the wall near the door so the bell only rings when Ralphie hits it which works well for us. Even after not using the bell system for several days he picked it right up when we returned home. The bell has a great sound and can be heard throughout the house. I appreciated the true bell shape, there is nothing for little nails to get stuck on. The metal frame of the bell hanger is good quality. I see this bell lasting a long time! If you are deciding on which kind/style of potty bell to invest in, this is IT!

It Works Like A Charm!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. The reason we bought this type is so that we can screw it to the door frame. I don't like the floor type as I mop and vacuum often and do not want to pick it up all the time. Installation was so easy and the design is amazing. Our puppy was 12 weeks old when we introduced the bell. Every time we took him outside, we lift him up to touch the bell with his paw, and we said "Tinkle Time". About a week later, he rang the bell by himself, using his nose. Amazing! He is only 14 weeks today and he has mastered it (once in a while he tried to outsmart us, and rings the bell so he can go outside to play, but since I know when he last went to pee/poop, he only tricked us 3 times!).

Works great!
I had already "trained" my dog on a set of jingle bells that I'd put together, but no matter what you did, they were not loud enough. That created the issue of the dog thinking she didn't need to ring the jingle bells, or our new shiny bell. Even though we've had extensive conversations about it (even though she whines and barks a lot normally, she's quite closed mouthed during these discussions!!), she will not ring the bell unless I'm standing right there telling her she can't go outside or go potty until she rings the bell!! The only times she has rung the bell when I was in another room was when she'd been inside for about 2 minutes after she's come in and when I was busy in the bathroom. Sigh. At first she didn't care for the tone of the bell it seemed, but she adjusted to it pretty quickly, and now thinks that if she hears that noise, even if she didn't ring it, she should get to go outside!! With a four year old nephew running around, as you can imagine, it rings sometimes when the dog is completely asleep!! Lol!!

Awesome Product!!!!
Oh my gosh!!! This bell was is the most awesome piece of equipment i have purchased for my dog!!! It was extreamly easy to install (two small wood screws tap right in to your door frame), and extreamly sturdy. The bell and all components are metal so my dog can not chew it or do damage to any part of the set up. The bell is crisp and loud....you can even hear it outside. My dog is a shelter dog that I adopted at 7 weeks old. At nearly 7 months old she was STILL not potty training at all. I was at my witts end but determined not to give my baby up and that I WAS gonna find a way. I found a web site that recommended the use of a bell. I am SO glad I chose this particular bell and seller!!! I had the bell in just a few days....had it installed in 2 minutes and within the first hour my dog was using it without training!! Within two days she was lotty broke and is now a wonderful house dog!!! Thank you for such a wonderful product....it saved us from having to give up our baby!!!!

Great but HOH buyers beware
This bell works exactly as I wanted it to. My dog was a big bashful of it at first, but I just rang it every time before I opened the door, and she figured out what it meant and started doing it herself.BEWARE: If you are hard of hearing (HOH) then this might not be the bell for you. I can hear it from the other side of my house, but my dad can't hear it even when he's just 10 feet away from it. It is a bit of a higher pitched tinkling noise
