Daughter loved getting this for Christmas. The cd case was cracked though due to Amazon shipping material.

Best pop album so far this year
This was a HUGE pleasant surprise. Before Olivia Rodrigo appeared on Saturday Night Live, I'd only heard Drivers License. I loved her performance of Good 4 U on the show (as well as Drivers License) and figured I'd give SOUR a shot - hoping there may be a couple more good songs on it. OMG! No throwaways - all 11 tracks are extremely pleasant, melodic pop gems. At times she sounds like Billie Eilish, at times like Taylor Swift (and the slow, softer part of Good 4 U sounds like Marian Hill). Yet while she sounds like she borrows from these artists, she molds everything into her own sound, which is all but certain to earn her several Grammy nominations this year. Best New Artist? Album, song, record of the year? I can't imagine that she won't be nominated in all four of those categories. This is a great debut album. The songs are very accessible, musically and lyrically. The only complaint I have is its length . . . it's only 35 minutes of music, but I've had it on repeat-play for 5 days and I'm not sick of it yet, so it's a very worthwhile 35 minutes!

Olivia is very talented
My favorite song on this CD is Drivers license. I play that song while I'm driving. I relate to some of the lyrics.

Album of the year, IMHO
I'd heard "Driving Lesson" six months or so before I finally bought this CD. It made an impression, so I'd written it down. I finally got this CD and was blown away. Not just by how fantastic "Driving Lesson" really was, but by the entire CD. She is incredibly self-aware; it shows in her lyrics. The music is amazing as well, and so impressive for a girl her age. (Disney must have had a fit when they heard it. This is definitely not what you'd expect from a Disney star!) Every. Single. Song. Is. Great. Each one can stand on its own. Absolutely brilliant, and I hope that she wins Album Of The Year. She deserves it!
