Jesus Everlasting: Leaning on Our Counselor, Defender, Father, and Friend

I loved this book, its beautiful messages and the artful way Wendy Pope brought them to life! Wendy invites us to cultivate the deeper meaning of the names of Jesus as found in Isaiah 9:6 by showing us how Christ manifested those names in the lives of five Biblical women. And through the “everlasting thoughts” at the close of each chapter, as well as the creative use of music, Wendy shows us Christ’s desire and ability to be our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. Wendy’s conversational, witty and relatable style makes the complex sovereignty of Almighty God not only understandable, but more importantly embraceable. She shows us that Jesus is not just the baby in the manger at Christmas, but the Almighty Gift that keeps on giving to us today and forevermore.

Jesus... Jesus... Jesus... Wendy Pope's love for Jesus shines through her words. I am ever thankful for the courage she has to share the message that God has placed on her heart. He is sure to use this message to stir hearts and transform lives. What peace and comfort it brings knowing that our Everlasting Father is with us alway! All else will fade away, but Jesus is with us always and forever.... Jesus Everlasting.

This book touched my heart. With so many things going on right now, it was a great reminder that our Everlasting Father is right there with us. Wendy Pope is real, and you see it through her writing. I was reading it with her online book club each week, but I couldn’t wait until the next week and finished the book. It is a very easy read.

I love Wendy’s writing style. She writes like she’s talking to her girlfriends. You can feel her excitement about Jesus in her words. I’m only two chapters in so far. In chapter two she talks about Jesus meeting the woman at the well. She brings to light things I never saw in this passage before. Can’t wait to read the rest of the book!

This is a wonderfully written book by Wendy Pope. Wendy’s down to earth, southern roots, shine through in her love for others in sharing God’s word. You will learn the importance and necessity of leaning on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ daily to get through the tough times life will throw at you.Thank you Wendy for this stirring book. ❤️

I love how Pope incorporated hymns into the narrative. This book is a splendid reminder of who Jesus is and of how He views the role of women.

This book was beautifully written and the impact of seeing each aspect of who Jesus became and still is for us.Wendy writes from her heart and uses Scripture as well as humor and personal testimony to remind us who we are when we have a relationship with Christ. He truly is our "Jesus Everlasting"!!

Wendy Pope did an outstanding job with this book making all of the titles of Jesus real and personal as she connected each one with Scripture. A must read for anyone wanting to grow close and personal to their Lord and Savior.
