Useful Guide
I bought this guide ahead of a planned trip to Venice. Layout is the usual clear format used in other Top 10 guides produced by DK. We unfortunately had to cancel the trip so it'll be a while before it comes off the shelf again.

A very comprehensive and well laid out guidebook
Anytime when I go away on holiday, I nearly always find myself purchasing a relevant DK travel guide and this guide book for Venice (which is one of a series) explains why they have obtained the lions share of the travel guide market. It is very comprehensive in the amount of detail which it provides and is laid out in a very easy to follow manner. The first section, entitled "top 10 Venice Highlights," provides a very high level overview of the best things in the city, including Basilica di San Marco, Piazza San Marco and Grand Canal. Each of these attractions is then covered is more detail on the following pages. The second section provides much more detailed information on the key attractions and is set out by theme. Within each theme (e.g. Palaces, Churches, Bridges etc), extensive details are provided on a number of must see attractions, with a more brief overview given in respect of any other attractions which are also worth a visit. The third and final section, entitled "Venice area by area" provides further information on each individual area in Venice, such as San Marco, Castello, The Northern Lagoon etc, with even more extensive information provided on attractions and places to eat and drink.Overall, the guidebook is very comprehensive and it's not difficult to see why they are so popular.

DK has done it again
DK has done it again with this superb guide to Venice. A visit to Venice needs to be carefully planned. Whilst the city is compact, you need to optimise your stay and tick off the unmissable sights as well as soaking up the atmosphere and experiencing the real Venice - not just the tourist sights. This, light handy pocket-sized guide of Top 10 Lists helps you plan the perfect trip with ease and to make the most of every moment. It includes the top 10 Venice highlights, the top 10 of everything from moments in history, churches, museums, bridges, off the beaten track, free Venice, places to eat, children's attractions, festivals and events. And a lot more. Supported with detailed maps, photos, prices, vaporetto routes and a fabulous fold out map, this essential guide is all you need for a trip to Venice. Before lockdowns, I went to Venice a few days before Christmas. Hardly any crowds and this booklet (an earlier version) came into its own.

Compact but Packed!
Love this guide to Venice which is a city I'm very fond of but although this is nice and compact as suggested with the 'Pocket Guide' title which is very useful I think the fact it is titled 'top 10' undersells the book and series a little as there's much more in here than just the top 10 things to do in Venice. There's tons and tons of really helpful info about lots of different places, experiences. zones and traditions etc and I love the way they include a suggested itinerary depending on the length of your stay (i.e the best things to see most efficiently if there for two days, a different list if you have more time and are there for four days etc). The maps aren't huge but big enough font to be readable and very useful and it's a really enjoyable read either before hand or en-route and well worth the asking price so would 100% recommend - great little guide.

Useful compact travel guide
A useful compact travel guide that offers a really good amount of information on where to go and see, focusing on top 10 restaurants, top 10 museums, etc. It manages to pack a lot into not much space, while remaining easy to read, and has the advantage of being quite small so easy to carry around. Four stars.
