Tamako knows all about mochi, the traditional Japanese desert treats. When she's not attending school, she even invents new flavors and varieties for her family's mochi shop. Growing up, on the other hand, is something that she's still trying to find the right recipe for. With the help of her best friends Kanna and Midori, Tamako's determined to make the best of things, but it's complicated. Especially when it comes to her relationship with her best BOY friend Mochizo, whose family runs a rival mochi shop. And lately, Midori's been feeling a little odd about her feelings towards Tamako as well. And what's with up with that strange bird fluttering around, the one that speaks fluent Japanese? It's all very overwhelming, but at least there's one thing Tamako can count on: whether her day's been good or bad, there'll always be something wonderful at the end of every adventure when she takes a walk through TAMAKO MARKET!

Definitely recommended!
Great little series with a ton of cute dialogue and jokes between characters. Tamako is as ditzy as they come but remains completely adorable throughout. The guy next door (Mochizo) is the typical, WAY TOO SHY, male MC and mostly drove me nuts. I can't get my head around why most manga / anime creators still find that to be endearing or remotely popular because it gets tiring watching them suffer through trying to talk to a girl...it's never that hard. Nevertheless, it's a really good series, funny and feel good. Can't wait to watch Tamako Love Story to cap it off...already own it - just haven't watched yet. :-)

You must watch this before watching the movie, "tamako love story".
One of the cutest slice of life anime EVER. Of course, when Kyoto animation is involved moe is done right! This series follows the protagonist, tamako, who lives within the market of usagiyama. Lots of people and shops. But where exactly does tamako belong? Where does she want to go?This series is great and I can rewatch easily. 10/10p.s that ending theme is so beautiful. I love it.

Not very memorable
Average anime. Not much to really say about it, cause this really isn’t the kind of anime I like. I like slice of life but this one just wasn’t my thing and it didn’t really pull me in like others have. It’s kinda weird as well. Characters are ok but none of them really set themselves apart as anything special. It has some decent humor at times, but again pretty average. Come to think of it I just finished watching it two days ago and there was really nothing memorable that stuck with me. I can’t even remember any names other than Dera and Kanna because they were the two most memorable. I’m sure there are people who love this one but I’m not one of them. Nothing wrong with the product so 4 stars but to me there has to be a degree of how good the show is taken into account when you review it so it loses a star because it is just not a memorable anime. But it was entertaining while watching but not much replay value for me.

Cute Slice of life
Really enjoy this slice of life anime, took me a few episodes to get into. But it wholesome enough for all ages and has a cute storyline. This also has a movie to look for after you finish the series.
