First time pickle ball players. My wife and I decided to try playing and purchased a cheap set of wood paddles and ball from local sporting good store. We had a lot of fun playing one match until our ball split in half. Get what you pay for! It was enough to convince us we needed better equipment. Other experienced players at the court told us we needed better equipment and suggested Pickle Ball Central.We decided on the Rally Tyro 2 set with 4 Duro balls because of the good reviews and because they are made in America. Support our own, when you can! Paddles are great and ball has stood up to several matches now. Much less work swinging a synthetic paddle vs wood. They are lighter and the ball gets more pop from the honeycomb core of the paddle. Got this Rally Tyro 2 set for my wife and me. It was a hit and we love playing Pickleball. The bag makes it easy to take it with us on trips as well. The racquets are very comfortable and seem to perform well.

I keep reading that this is a great beginner's paddle. It's much more than that. Yes, I purchased it when I was first starting to play, but as my game has progressed, and I tried "upgrading" to brands like Selkirk and Gearbox, I found that none could match the power and touch of the Rally Tyro 2. Even though the other paddles weighed more (over 8 oz) the real difference I found was in the power of the Rally Tyro. I can hit passing shots from the baseline with confidence. The ball jumps off the paddle low and fast. No matter how hard I tried, I could not replicate this power with the other paddles. And it plays the finesse game around the net beautifully. I've found my go-to paddle and am sticking with it!
