This coffee table was nearly impossible to assemble as the top and bottom screw holes were off-set vertically by about a quarter of an inch. Also there was glue in one of the screw holes which I had to clean out with a knife. I finally got the table put together after about two hours of struggling but now have quarter inch gaps between the lower table slots on the legs and lower table bottom. After initially attaching the legs to the table top, I had to go back and remove all the top screws, start a bottom screw, start top screws again, and tighten each in small increments while the wood was creaking and popping due to stress. I'm surprised something didn't break. Also the table top is not perfectly flat. Once assembled I noticed a slight curvature along the short edge of the top. I checked it with a straight edge and found to top was warped about a quarter inch as well. In addition, Once assembled, the dimensions on this coffee table are not ideal as the table is a little to high for a standard couch and the top rests about midway up a normally sized person's chest when extended. Too high for comfortably eating a meal from the table top. The only reason I gave this two stars instead of one is because the lifting mechanism does work good, However, there is apparently very poor (or no) quality assurance in the factory where the wooden parts are made. The numerous problems with the quality of this table is especially frustrating considering the $329 price tag. Ridiculous!

This is a solid piece of furniture.Assembly was easy, less than 15 min from opening the box to putting my coffee on top. Just 9 screws.What i like about this is the lift mechanism. Solid. doesn't sway around when extended like the cheap foreign tables you see here.local furniture store would charge 2X as much for this quality.

Although this table is very sturdy, and the instructions to put it together were clear, I had two screws that stuck on me. One screw became so stuck, that removing it caused the insert that the screw goes into to come out with it! I was able to remove the screw from the insert by holding it with a pair of pliers, then I placed it back. Tried another screw just in case, but I was only able to screw it two thirds of the way in.The other screw was sticking, but would still turn with great effort. Once I had screwed it about two thirds of the way, it suddenly became easier to turn and I was able to tighten it all the way. I'm unsure if there is a QC issue with the inserts, but for the price I paid, I would think the process would have been flawless.

I’m very happy with this purchase. It came well packaged and in great condition. Sturdy table and good value for the money. Easy to put together.
