The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail

Brilliant but one needs to think about it a lot!
I bought my first copy of this book in 1984, and have always had a copy to hand.I have used the material to construct more than one tour, spanning London, Monmouthshire, Edinburgh, as Saintes Maries de la Mer,near Marseilles, and Rennes Le Chateau, However, as an eco-adventure Tour Operator, I only used its outlines for my own family. Ihave stayed in Rennes-Les-Bains, a tiny spa village close by, whose French Manager's parents were married by the priest in the localchurch, who had been friends with the priest in Rennes le chateau.I'm fairly sure that there is noone alive. who has first hand knowledge of these things, but they do make wonderful journeys for those who have no preconceived judgement of "truth or blasphemy"Only 1% of Freemasons I have met with find this material of interest, but millions of people have now read this book, and who knows how many hundreds of thousands have been influenced by it, and its children such as da vinci code, etc.

Controversial and intriguing!
Received this on 19th April 2017. Consists of 528 pages. Got this after being recommended it by my brother (who also has a copy), and also through reading Dan Brown's "The Di Vinci Code", which I also have. For various reasons, I would not recommend this book to anyone who has very strong pre-conceived religious views. However, if one is broad minded, and continually asks questions about Jesus which people cannot answer, or why the Bible tends to be so innacurate in parts, this book goes a long way to answering these questions, and to me, and my brother, make sense! I know it is a heavy book to read, but it is also very intriguing and the connection with the Templars comes across very strongly.I am looking forward to finding out more- amid controversy! There are also some black and white photos in the middle of the book!

Interesting but challenging
This book really does test your idea of things the modern world believes & really makes you think & challenge pre-existing ideas.

Holy Mackerel!
It will come as no surprise to many to find out that I read this book immediately after DVC in a pursuit to find out what it really is all about.I would heartily recommend this book as a companion piece to aforementioned da Vinci Code but as I say with that book, you must retain an open mind. I am reasonably convinced about large parts of this story, but in my opinion too many assumptions are made by the authors in order to make the story fit their own conclusion, as opposed to the other way around.Certainly a good, factual (!?) piece, but you may find that it will not satisfy you, thus leading you down the "grail trail" to read more...

Brilliant
Thought provoking!!! Even if only 50% is right. Then it calls into question a lot of religious beliefs....
