I love this trashcan
I bought this can in Jan. 2024 after my new dog had knocked over my previous can, resulting in a vet ER visit for THREE dogs to induce vomiting. Oy. It's the end of June, 2024, so I've had 6 moths with this trashcan to assess its ease of use and functionality. I purchased the power cord separately so I can keep it plugged in at all times.I like the stainless steel. It wipes clean pretty easily. I love the clam-shell closure on top as it lies flat, but opens with enough space to put typically sized garbage into the can easily (larger than personal pan pizza boxes will need to go straight to the outside can). I love that the bag is tucked neatly out of sight when set up properly.I read several reviews that grumbled about how taking the bag out to empty caused tears. This would only happen if you don't bother to remove the frame that holds the bag in place. If you take the frame off (see video), that will never be an issue as there is nothing to get stuck on. I should say, there is a carbon filter you can place in the can to help reduce odors. I think it is meant to stick to one of the interior walls, and this would very likely cause some very full bags to tear. But, there is no reason you can't just put that filter on the floor of the can (as I did). The filter will reduce odors just as well from under the bag as from the interior wall, and being on the floor of the can keeps it out of the way when removing full bags.I also saw reviews that grumbled about the need for very specific bags (I use standard 13-gallon bags - Great Value, the Walmart brand). Any standard 13-gallon bag should fit easily. Finally, I read reviews grumbling about how difficult it was to put the bags in properly. I found it to be decidedly easy to do. I made a video showing both removing bags without tearing and putting new bags in with ease so y'all can see just how simple it is.On the downside (nothing is perfect), I have to be sure there is enough distance between the motion sensor and the wall, otherwise light changes (shadows) across the wall will trigger the lid to open repeatedly. I have it facing the wall to minimize risk of my dogs triggering the lid to open. I don't need a repeat vet ER visit, thanks. But, as long as there's 3-4 inches between the wall and the sensor, I do not have this problem. I have seen a couple reviews suggesting the need to touch the can to make the lid open. This is simply not true. Depending on the angle of lighting, you can trigger the lid to open from 8-10 inches, or you might need to be within 1-2 inches. But you don't need to touch the lid. I have triggered the lid with nothing more than the clear cellophane from a frozen food. It's not that hard. You just need to approach from the correct angle given the light in the room. You do have the option of pushing a button to hold the lid open if you need it open for longer than the automatic time. I use this when I'm emptying the vacuum canister or throwing out multiple items at one time. If you have pressed the stay-open button, you will also need to press the close button to end that stay-open feature. Once it's closed after that, the motion-sensor feature is functioning again.I do like that there is a power button so you can turn off the lid when needed. There is also a pet-lock allowing you to keep the lid from opening even if the power is on and the motion sensor is triggered.Overall, I have been very pleased with this can. It's compact, tidy, and works great. Definitely worth the money.

Works well
Used in the bathroom trash for adult soiled diapers. So far no complaints.
