Stansport Aluminum Sluice Box

The carpet does not catch much of anything. It was too fine and really has nowhere for gold to deposit. I tested it with gold flakes I had and it all went through this system and into a safety bucket because the sluice did not catch it.

I was excited when I got my sluice box, until I went to use it with my more experienced friend. First thing he said is that it’s a decent sluice box but if you don’t want to lose gold you’ll need to modify it.He also said the hole in the feed creates a vortex that will suck down tiny flakes1. Seal up every fold in the locked location ....every gap and hole. Never fold it again. Use water proof silicone.2. Plug the hole with gorilla tape backing and silicone3.Replace the carpet with a better sluice matt. The wire mesh traps a ton of rocks. If it builds up too high the gold flows right over it.I still gave this 3 stars, it worked and trapped gold, but I’ve now turned it into a box that doesn’t fold and put a few hours into replacing the mat with a one piece mat, so I’ll see how that works. I reattached the handle/strap on one side so it will still be easy to carry.I put gorilla tape on the back of the hole in the feeder and sealed it up. Sealed all the cracks as suggested by my more experienced friend.Now it’s probably a 5 star box, but I had to spend more money and time to make it so. Do yourself a favor get a one piece sluice with no holes and cracks!

Well looking at the pic I though product would be wider. Reality the sluice box is more long and skinny. Only one simple reason for 5 star..., Found out there is some gold in that there river! Not a huge amount, not even enough to cover cost of fuel to get there, where I am at. However the sluice box found some gold bearing paydirt on the river of green WA!

I may not get rich prospecting, but me and the kids will have hours of fun with this. Sturdy design with removable flare that allows it to fit into my backpack.I also purchased the miners moss to fit the sluice.

Nice box. The connections are a little lose after a couple of months. I have to put a flat board under it to keep it level and smooth flowing. Packs up well easy to carry back up in the woods.

Good quality but wasn’t able to use do to very low water flow. I’ve had bigger sluices and know enough to know this will do the job and best part is the ability to carry this with ease since it’s nice and compact

You would think the 30 inch box would at least have miners moss in it.. Well it's does now.. And I also have vortex mat for it..

I tried this product and liked it. Would like to see some sort of stand that is adjustable for when I highbank with it and find a reasonably priced pump to pump water over it continually.

Total fraud. Its not working. Its just for kids. Not for gold. Just pick your money from pocket.

It works great! Put together in a few seconds. We tugged it in between rocks in the river and placed a big one on top. Seems to have been working very well. Good construction.After sluicing, just take one of the middle screws out (by hand) and the bad can be lifted easily into your bucket to rinse.It's big enough for little gold diggers like us and small enough to carry along the river without to much hassle. Watch your step when stepping around them slimy rocks in the river or you'll find yourself in the freezing water like I did. Get out there and have fun!No gold yet, but we have only just started :)

Excellent product - does its job. I needed a foldable unit to fit on ATV and easy transport. So the logistics were perfect. The setup can be frustrating as the folding joints can pop back open with the weight of the water if not supported from behind. Overall I still say it is a great purchase for those that need the folding feature. The only reason I gave it a 4 and not 5 was it needing bracing on the joint while in a stream

Way to small 30 inches long and 8 wide is bull for the cost will be sending it back not worth the money better to buy the moss and make one yourself less then hundred dollars..
