This is a great unit and once you get the hang of programming it the light shows you can do are fabulous, with no need to be using the laptop. But yeah, watch some you tube videos on how to program it after you read through the manual. It is kind of like programming a digital watch with some buttons having multiple functions, you have to hold them down for so long, and so forth...kind of a challenge. I end up running it in manual mode a lot of the time and just using the sliders to select the color. It can almost be run as stage lighting like this as long as you remember which lights are which. Also, it is not 'position sensitive' on the sliders...the unit does not send a new signal to newly selected lights until the sliders are nudged a bit. So you can have the sliders all the way up and then select the lights and nothing will happen until you move the sliders you want a bit. Just a weird DMX protocol thing I guess.

Purchases it and waited for my lights to try it out. When I connected it, It didn't control the lights. read all the directions and even watched the youtube tutorial. No success. Tried wired and wireless. No success. Tried to return for a replacement. Said it was over 30 days. Waiting for the manufacturer to return my email. Not happy with the response and assistance at all.

The buttons and knobs are made of really cheap plastic and the knobs come off way too easily.The buttons need to be pressed quite firmly to register, but the actual functionality is impressive for a small device. There is nothing wrong with it that affects its functionality.
