Dear Catherine,Thank you for your query. The Imantado XL set contains nail nippers which are not suitable for the cuticles. We have a manicure set in stock with the cuticle nippers (please type in Hans Kniebes Manicure Set 861 in the Amazon search line). Yes, one of scissors has a blunt tip for trimming nose and ear hairs.

Q: How sharp are the nail clippers? I have sets before where they will cut the nail but leave a jagged edge. Will these nail clippers cut smoothly?

I don't have that problem. A good tip is to cut your nails straight after a shower because your nails are softer then.

Q: Does this include actual fingernail scissors, or just cuticle scissors and a nail clipper?

The nipper included is a nail nipper. Cuticle nippers are smaller, angled and much pointier. There are two scissors included: An ear/nose scissor (with spoon type tip) and a combination scissor. A combination scissor is designed to the job of both a cuticle scissor (fine pointy tip) and a nail scissor (wider middle blade). If you'd prefer a set with a specialized cuticle scissor, we advise looking at the Havanna XL set by the same manufacturer. All tools except scissors are identical between these two sets.
