Fantastic fresh cultural storytelling with a delightful way of writing!
It’s just as advertised in the obvious fanclub written reviews of this beloved Korean Author. A fan of the gamelit genre. I’m absolutely filled with gratitude and admiration for this delightful breath of fresh air that the author introduces with his witty quips, and dollops of wise fortune cookie-like wisdoms, spouted by his Main, or those around him. Sayings that are used so commonly by English writers, exist in a new spin. That is directly because of the author’s Korean origins, and cultural differences. I find myself excitedly reading outloud to my husband some of them, and this starts a bit of animated conversation with him, about what is meant, or how similarities exist, yet differ. We loved when a group member in the book became panicked, and the MC told him to chill out, but in his own quirky way. The MC had noticed a habit the member had, was similar to the actions that a person did to calm themselves, even though it personally disgusted him. So, the MC yells, “Go stick your finger in your butt and sniff it to calm down!” This was a husband share moment! These sayings and more awaits you! Bleach Fans will love this book highly! Or anyone wanting gamelit, but with a bunch of new twists that brings the kimchi back to your normal exciting grind book reading!

A Korean Take on a Dark "Isekai" Setting
4/5. This was a fun read. The author has definitely taken a challenging position with the main character here. The story starts where basically the end of an entire series of other books would end. The MC is bordering on god tier and doesn't have to answer to many people. So the question; how do you build a story with such a character and make it feel like it has stakes? I won't answer that question, read the book if it interests you (it'll become clear somewhat quick). But what I will say is that its not some lame cop out where they lose all their power. I personally think the author accomplished the task well -- nothing is ever "nail biter" tense but the author still created a bit of tension. The biggest let down in this story is that it follows a lot of East Asian novels I've read with how it handles characters. There are some interesting side characters but I question if many of them will see much time in the future. The handling of the side characters really gives me some "Warlock of the Magus World" vibes where side characters might make cameos in the future but you won't see or hear much later. This is unfortunate because many of these side characters are interesting. As far as the MC is concerned. He's the brooding protag archetype. Most emotion has been driven from him and he has a single minded goal. Based on his past, I can see that as being believable; but as a reader it kind of makes things boring. So don't expect much from the main character in this book -- maybe that changes later.Pay attention to the "dark fantasy" tag/note here. The world/story can be brutal, but the author doesn't linger in describing things -- he'll tell you enough to realize what is happening and then let your mind fill in the rest.If you like the kind of fantasy that comes out of Korea pretty often, then this is a step up in some cases, to those. Honestly it's like the author borrowed the Isekai genre (sort of) but left out the anime-isms and cranked the "dark" factor a little higher.

A good but dark litRPG
Having lived in Korea for a number of years, the 'voice' of this book really reminds me of some of my time over there. The flavor of manhwa (manga) and novel writers of this type tend to be fairly dark. They swear a lot. Mostly at each other. Strength is paramount, and there is little trust. Violence is set to fist-of-the-north-star-level.The following review contains some story information from the first chapter of the book. If you are looking for an edgy more violent version of "True Night Falls" or enjoy a 'dark hero,' then you can leave off here and give the book a shot. If you didn't like the anime "Berserk," this book might not be for you. This story takes place in a magical realm where humans are summoned to fight to the death for various causes. It has the usual level up systems in place, as well as magic. The Main Character in this story is someone who, after conquering and suffering through untold trials, defeats the last boss with his insane strength stat... only to find out that the enemy has become immune to anything but magic. So he goes back to 'start again' and hides with a group of novices who have just been summoned. The easiest way to describe the main character is to say he cares about humanity, but not people.People die around him all the time. He'll act to help if it's not against his interests, but at the same time, he doesn't really care if they die. A usual refrain (even to his allies) is the phrase; "do you want to die?" A sort of slang phrase in Korean. Both the world and story are very rich and probably one of the best parts about this book. There's a lot that happens before the opening, and it's slowly teased out through this and the following book. As it's a monthly publication, you can read it online. As the author publishes chapters, there is an official page dedicated to translating each chapter as it's released. (But please buy the book if you like it to show support.)I can recommend this story with the note that it's QUITE VIOLENT. There is also LANGUAGE.If you want a dark fighting story with gory violence where the world isn't two dimensional, this is a good story for you.

creative angle
Like the story and reasonable story development. It’s not one of those books where the MC goes from zero to hero in a few months since he is already OP after 25 years. Wasn’t much unnecessary fluff and the story moved well and the plots weren’t full of holes you see in many Litrpgs where the author starts well but tapers off into silly directions.

Worth it
Great book.Solid grammar, good progression, just very grim, if that's not to your taste then you won't enjoy it.

Please rest assured that the story is fantastic and that I along with many others love it very much.Anyhow now that I finished reading the book I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the second on and the others to come ^^Ps : I hope you all get better soon and get back to putting out more regular chapters of Main Character Hides His Strength ;)
