We have a lot of cottonwood trees near our house and in the spring when the trees are seeding, they cause problems with air conditioning condenser units and have a tendency to clog the cooling fins. To avoid this, I went to a local building supply and bought some screen wide enough to go around the outside condenser unit from top to bottom (trimming with scissors might be required to get a perfect fit) and then use these magnets to hold the screen in place. When the cottonwood seeds start covering the screen, I turn off the condenser and use a vacuum cleaner to suck off the cottonwood fuzz and am done in ten minutes without having to remove any of the skirting around the condenser and using a hose to clear the fins.
