how can i connect these drain covers to my 4" sch 40 pvc pipe without buying $20 4" repair couplings (since these are exact size of my pipe)?

This drain cover is actually 4.25 inches in diameter per the description. You need to find one that is 4” or a little less.

Does This fit inside 4 inch pvc?

no. this drain grate is exactly the same size as 4" sch 40 pvc pipe. so the grate won't fit over or into the pipe. i believe it'll requires a 4" repair coupling. but those cost over $20 ea at our local big hardware store.
