Penn Elcom! Woohoo!
Very well built. It feels heavy duty, although I wouldn't intentionally put that to the test, but it was a lot heavier than I expected, and the drawer was material was a lock thicker than expected. Which is a great thing!I looked into this drawer specifically because all the other ones I found on Amazon had reviews about them only opening half way, or that it was very flimsy and easily formed dents, or even that it wouldn't stay shut without a key. Which seems ridiculous, considering the solution to all of that is simply with this drawer right here. But these locking latches are perfect. And like I said, it has great build quality. It opens all the way too. However, I should mention that it wobbles side to side a tiny bit when it's pulled all the way out, IF you don't screw in the back rack screws. Which is understandable, considering it's long rails. Now, the ONLY reason I haven't utilized the back mounts is because my rack case only has front mounts. Other than that tiny flaw, this thing is 10/10 for me.Also, the packaging was super secure and it actually delivered a lot faster than expected. I actually didn't even get a shipment notification until AFTER it was delivered. Which was super weird, but hey I'm not complaining! And to the guy who rated this product 2 Stars, I'm very mad at you because now everyone at first glance thinks this product is 3.5 stars. Hopefully my review does it some justice!PENN ELCOM! WOOHOO!

Setup can be a chore
This is a good product, but it can take a while to get it set up properly for your uses. Measuring and multiple removals will likely be required to fit the rails to your desired length. If you are off by a little bit the drawer will get angled and the locks will be difficult to open/close properly until you fix it. All in all, worthwhile and well made, but beware that it's not going to be as simple to install as screwing in the face plate and moving on.

Great rack drawer
I got this for a music rack, the locking mechanism is great as it won't open during transportation. No idea why this gets bad reviews, but I'll rate it as top notch.

High quality and sturdy drawer
This drawer is very well built, has a smooth opening mechanism to it, and the double latches hold it securely closed. The drawer has back and front rack attachments and the rear ones can be adjusted to fit any individual case. You have to slide the drawer out first, loosen the rail screws, slide the rails out to the desired spacing then tighten the rail screws again. I did this while in the rack so was a bit fiddly and had to use a spring clamp to hold the outside nut while I tightened the screw from inside. Not very elegant but you only have to do it once.

NOT designed for an SKB rack enclosure. Your milage may vary.
Upside:It is of good quality. Well built excellent fit an finish.I am a network administrator by trade. I've worked with a lot of rack mount equipment in my 30+ years. One of the best things about it is unlike most other drawers I've seen, this pulls out to over 90% of the depth of the drawer. Most other aren't even close.Downside: (Just for me. It may fit your rack case perfectly) It is a good piece of hardware. After installing the drawer, I noticed that it slid nice and easy until I got toward the middle of it's travel. At which point It got fairly hard to push. Once I got a bit past the center of travel it was fine again. Same for the reverse direction.I took it back out and noticed that near the center of travel, there's another set of attachment points that came away from the rails then returned to parallel the outside wall on the case. They were sticking out enough to inhibit the travel of the drawer.I took them off the drawer, out to the garage, put them in a vice and flattened them. I'm not really sure why they are there. The rails themselves are sufficiently strong enough to support the drawer unless you filled it with led (an obvious exaggeration). The only other thing that I've noticed is that there is a "tab" at the front end of the rails that is bent at about a 95° angle. If you close the drawer too hard enough times it will bend back toward 90° eventually, the the tab will stop the latches on the front of the drawer from working. You just have to tap them back into place. It is a slight annoyance.Would I buy this product again? Absolutely. The fix was a minimal amount of work.

Too flimsey
Very disappointed. Very flimsy. If your rack doesn't have rails in the back to attach the rear mounts, it moves left and right when open and close it.Doubt that ill keep it. A drawer turned upside down is a much better option.

Good Buy, but you may need strong fingers
sturdy construction, smooth glide, rear mounting easily fit my 19" deep rack. The Slam Locks take a respectable amount of pressure with your fingers to open the locks, but not impossible, and I prefer the locks be tight enough to resist shock and vibrations of transport.

Worth the money.
This drawer operates very smoothly.Adjusted the length of the sliding rack ear extension fixture to perfectly fit the selected rack. In this case a rack-able depth of 17.6". Didn't bother trying to mount with only the front screws. So I can't say how well it works that way. If you have rear rails to mount to, do it. It's worth the small effort required to do the adjustment and ensure that there is full support.Tested by adding weight. Used more than what is required for my intended purpose. Sorry, didn't weigh the items. No sag, and the operation is still smooth. The latches work great too. Solid lockup, "clicky" action. Secure.Extended fully, there is access to 12.75" of the 14.2" of interior space. So from the front of drawer, to the front of the rack rails. That small amount of obstruction only occurs if there something installed in the space directly above the drawer, and still easily accessible and usable .I will probably be buying more of these, and a larger size as well if available. Looking forward to receiving another product from them that is on its way.Penn Elcom R1290/1U Sliding Rack Tray (Audio, AV, IT, DJ) Equipment Shelf for 1 Rack Space up to 15 Inch DeepHoping that it works as well as this does.Good product. Solid and sturdy
Solid and sturdy and fairly heavy. Bought it to use as a pedal drawer in a guitar road case rack. Really I have no complaints other than it didn't come with mounting screws

Garbo
Just shockingly bad. Arrived with a bent rack ear and a broken lock, even though the shipping box was in decent shape. This should give you some idea of the quality and longevity on offer here. Contacted the company for a return to no response, thankfully Amazon provided a refund anyway. The entire thing and sliding mechanism feels cheap, loose / flimsy and floppy. To the bin with this one!
