It’s about the thickness of what you find in a produce bag at the grocery store.

Q: If these bags are 12 x 20 , how can the dimensions in Product Information be 3 x 3 x 9 ? What is the true dimension of the roll of bags?

The bags are 11 1/2 by 19 1/2. I could be off slightly so their measurements of 12 by 20 could be correct. I'm not sure where 3 x 3 x9 comes from

No, I believe that they do not breathe. They appear to me to be made of solid plastic material impervious to the transmission of air or moisture.

Q: What is the diameter of the core inside? I need to fit it over a 1 1/4" rod.

The circumference is 23 inches (not 24). The diameter is 7.3248 inches. To find the diameter, you divide the circumference by Pi (3.14). Therefore... 23/3.14=7.3248 inches.
