Really nice book, easy to read (also for foreigners like me) and really fast!!!If you loved the movie this is the cherry on top of the cake!!!!

If you liked Wes Anderson's film you will like the screenplay and will enjoy reading it as much as you have enjoyed seeing the film.

One of my favorites if not my favorite movie but this book was really a great disappointment. It is a cheap paperback like a knock off with really cheap gritty black and white paper and there are no color photos. and the overall quality including the cover is very poor. It is exactly just a manuscript that was made into a cheap book and it makes for poor reading. It does not tell the story you just read a manuscript. Really not worth the buy better to get the DVD which I have. I thought it would be like the hardcopy of the book the young girl had with her in the beginning of the story when she went tot he grave yard. It would be beeter if they made the book a hard copy with the same cover like this girl in the ovie had and then told the story instead of substituting the manuscript. Don't waste your money on this.

This sort of writing or film is rare for these days. The film is remarkable in every single way and by reading the adapted screenpaly (trust me, the working ones do not look like this) one gets much more in-depth view of the miraculous Roald Dahl like characters, the situation and the clear link to reality. This is a work of art.If you enjoyed this film, you will appreciate this book. It includes photographs- superfluous- but also sketches for original costume designs and a beautifully written set of forwards.
